Hello
I've had my boy for 5 1/2 years, prior to that he was at the Blue Cross for 3 years. I thought I had traced his breeder through the Internet as his passport name is Sariah Shades of Blue, but shes just told me that he wasnt bred at the Sariah Stud (initially she thought she had bred him). She got him from Newbury sales when he was around a year old.
She said he was still with his mother who was also sold at the sales. He came from the Royal Blue Stud (but I cant find any info on this).
His passport is from the BHS and I dont have any papers from the AHS.
Does anyone know the Royal Blue Stud? Apparently his dam was a "big bay", hes 14.1 and chestnut.
His passport has him being born in 98, my dentist says he has the teeth of a 12/13 yo.
I'd love to know his breeding and get him registered. I thought I had cracked it and got his sire and dam sorted, but I dont... His sire could well be Fenhouse Shades of Blue.
If anyone could help I'd be very grateful.

Well, i've been back through all my stud books and unearthed a stallion guide for 1974!
There is a stallion called Royal Blue standing at the Seaholm Stud for 1 year in 1974 by kind permission of Mrs I M Yeomans.
I guess you have been talking to Sheila - I live near to her and met Fenhouse Shades of Blue several times, he was an absolute darling but quite small for an AA. Royal Blue was 15hands and bay. Sariah's Capriole was a grey but you are looking for a bay is that right?

Yes I have been talking to Shelia. She told me initally that he was out of Fenhouse Shades of Blue and by Sariahs Capriole, but then last week called me to tell me that she got him at the sales.. I'm a bit confused!
Thanks for the info, I will do a bit more digging. Shady is pretty small for an Anglo as well. Hes still bum high tho at 14yo! |
