i went to see a horse yesterday, advertised on this site, drove for 8hrs in total, costing me £150.. spoke to the lady in depth beforehand on numerous occasions re the horse, when i got there he had a very large number of sarcoids, some very big , this was not mentioned in our numerous conversations, was very disappointed and with the lady owner/breeder... she was not straight forward/ open and honest.. he was a beautiful looking young chestnut gelding, rode nice, comfortable, very green, but that i knew... what an expensive waste of time trip!!.... and i believe she is a respectable arab horse/ owner/trainer/breeder from devon !!

| So I am still looking !!.. if anyone can help me.... I do have to have a gelding, I have 2 retired arabians, 35yrs and recently i have retired my 26 yr old!!... he is high crabbet, coming from mikhan of pulpitts x lorranet, essex.. pref 15hh/15.1.. 6/7/8/yrs old and good in traffic... not to worried what it has done re showing etc.. as my main concern is hacking out acrosss the new forest these days..and some endurance.. thankyou |

How extraordinary!
If it makes you feel any better, I bought a mare about 6 weeks ago and she had a couple of largish sarcoids on her udder that I did not notice and the owner did not tell me about those either! However, the owner may not have known in this case. I didn't notice because I couldn't get that close to her on the day I went to see her and anyway I didn't really suspect anything and so wasn't doing a thorough going-over as I ought to have!
I love this mare and am glad I have her anyway... But that is just me...
Onward and upwards, what about that ADORABLE white grey gelding for sale. He's quite small -- was he 14.2 or 14.1? Small anyway. I'd want to see him if I were looking......or that gorgeous adorable bay gelding that has just been started under saddle and was said to be very easy to start.......I mean, there are so many lovely horses out there right now!! But what a pain to have to drive EIGHT HOURS to see one you could have done without. I am sorry!

Reminds me of many years ago when I went to see a thoroughbred gelding, he was exactly what I wanted and I too drove for hours to see him. He was lovely....but.... they forgot to mention that he had been pinfired on both front legs and wouldn't even consider dropping the price. He wasn't cheap either. He was a sweetie, I do hope he found a good home but why do people do that.
I sold a filly several years ago and she had an almost invisible scar on her front leg but I told the people before they came to see her and when I pointed it out to them they were amazed that I had mentioned it as it was minute. However, it was there and I didn't want them not to know.
Would love to know who the stud was, can you pm me, please? There is a big stud in Devon (not the same one I am sure) who often has very nice geldings for sale; if you don't know who I will pm you. I am sure they would be honest with you.

That is ridiculous. You can't sell a horse at Leominster sales with sarcids so why expect someone to comne and see one without mentioning it.
Very sorry you were decieved, but sarcoids are not all terrible as martha knows. |

| I really don't get some people, makes you wonder what else wasn't mentioned that was not quite so obvious to see. I don't think I would trust someone who had so blatantly mislead me. However I do know people who have ended up buying unsound horses because they felt sorry for them and didn't want to leave them. Maybe the breeder thought you would fall in love withe horse and over look the sarcoids. Hope you find the right one soon without too many wasted journeys. |

| Madeleine, I have a half sister of Belinda Des Pins! She is out of a mare called Fachada but is also by Mozart. Her registered name is Dacrina Des Pins, but I call her Esme! What a pretty mare Belinda is! |

Dawn who used to own Dacrina helped me bring Belinda into the country.
I have just e-mailed Beverlee becasue I have a sone of hers for sale.
Dacrina is alovely mare too. Where abouts do you live?

| I live in Berkshire -- have just started her (well, a re-start, really) under saddle. She's got the loveliest nature and is very happy. Tons of attention and she loves her fieldmate, a big docile cob gelding named Monty. I think Dawn would be pleased! I feel kind of guilty that she isn't producing foals as she is really pretty and very gentle, but it sounds as though the Mozart line is doing very well without her! |
