I did the SCT Class 2 65km Open championships and came 3rd with a Grade 2, it was a really beautiful ride across the stunning New Forrest, definately recommend it for anyone thinking of doing it next year.
We were doing the 80k - proceeded round the 45k loop and got lost twice! The first one was my fault but added about 3k onto the route by the time we retraced our steps.
And then got to CP6 and we followed the only pink tags we could see and set off 3k later started to wonder why had not found CP7 as per my times should have, but then 2 more riders caught up doing the 45k loop, so rode another half k and then deccided we were not in the right place, so retraced our steps through the mud back to CP6.
The van at CP6 had moved and low and behold he'd been parked covering the route we should have taken. Got into the vet hold - we'd done 55k and I was not willing to do another 35k in the mud, so that was that
Hopefully next year will be better

Marjorie and I had an interesting weekend. It was her 1st weekend at a ride without my.other horse and she was very stressed. I had an awful night's sleep (combination of cold and illness) and was all for dropping to 20km. But I held my nerve and got a grade 2 in the 35km novice CR. Lots to work on over the winter but it was a great way to round the year off!
