A suggestion to all A Liners before you buy a pure bred arab, an anglo arab or a part bred arab. Please make sure you:
a) Ask the seller whether the horse is registered with the Arab Horse Society. Ask to see the paperwork i.e. the passport and the AHS Registration Certificate and check the chain of ownership. Check if the person you are buying the horse from is shown as the current owner on the Registration Certificate.
b) If the horse is declared as 'not registered' or 'not yet registered' please ring the Arab Horse Society office to see whether the horse is eligible for registration. It may save some heartache in the future if you want to show or breed from your new purchase. The AHS Registration office number is 01672 521411.
Taking these precautions is recommended in all circumstances. The seller should provide the information requested and it should be provided before the actual purchase is concluded.
