ive had charlie 2 weeks today and i called my farrier to come asap as i was not at all happy with his feet and stance,, always looked like he was standing on a podium, he is almost l6 hh and is very base narrow,,
well today he had his new feet, what a total mess his feet were in,, all different angles, sore heels, shoes that the clenches were so tight that when he took all the nails out i was asked to move him and the shoes didnt budge,, poor lad must have been in agony,,, and also in my wisdom i also booked my bowens therapist to help him with the changes as he didnt bend very well or seem to be able to lift his ribs on a cirle,,
well here are the before and after pics,, see what a difference it makes to him,, he is 24 yrs young and now a happier horse,, with a much brighter less painful and stiff future,, he is also barefoot due to the mess of his feet and will never be shod again,,
iknow he is going to be a bit foot sore for a bit but already moves so diffently,, bless him he was such a good patient,, even when his splits where cauterised to stop them going any higher,, and this farrier had been doing his feet for a few years,, makes you wonder dont it? glad i got my bloke to sort him out,, deb

Lucky Charlie to have found you. The first picture where he looks as though he's stood on a podium and that teeny tiny shoe remind me so much of Ziad when he arrived and two year's later he's much happier and goes so much better barefoot. Looks as though your blacksmith has done a lovely job, Charlie looks such a lot more relaxed in the 'after' picture and standing lovely and square. I am sure he will be a lot more comfortable well trimmed and barefoot.
