I found a very bad photo of a mare called Lady Grey (M B supp1936) that my grandmother hunted a few seasons. The mare was by a stallion called Mill bridge out of a mare called Lady Grey NPS 6944 (Grey Cross (arabbred register) ex 6371 Chirk Lady Doctor by grove Rushligt.
Have anyone got any information about the stallion Mill Bridge? TB or polopony or arab?

Hello Pelle,
Haven't found Mill Bridge yet, not sure what the Y.S.R stands for.
Have found the breeding of Lady Gray as she is entered in the Welsh Stud Book.

hello,
my mother has been in contact with a very old english gentleman friend in Hyderabad/ India, about Y.S.R.hopefully he can tell us what it is. have found another photo of a mare called Sanfoin MB ( or possible Sainfoin MB) by Mill Bridge ex welshcross mare by Greycross ex welsh. My greatgranny has made a funny note: All Mill Bridge stock is excellent ladys/hacks hunters as they have a very welldefined wither, suitible to carry a side saddle.

Interesting.
I have found two; Sainfoin (C.C.12-18) by Grove Rushlight ex Chirk Castle No.12. Born 1918.
Sainfoin II by Wingerworth Eiddwen ex the above Sainfoin. Born 1928.
Both bred by Lady Gray's breeder and both in WSB.

I have found a few references from searching google books that might prove useful in searching for Mill Bridge.

Livestock Journal Vol 166, 1932 page 81
'.....was Sir Ian Walker's Eau de Nile, a ch. f. by Tabarin, and third was Mr Tresham Gilbey's ch. c. Mill Bridge by Bridgewater.'

Journal of the RASE Vol 91 1930.
'Class 51 - Polo & Riding Pony Colts, Fillies or Geldings born in 1928.
332 I (£20 Champion) Capt The Hon C K Greenway, Stanbridge Earls, Romsey, Hants, for Malanet (supp 1928), bay filly; s Malice 1371, d Jane 6th (AMR p195) by Gay Lally.
335 II (£10) Lt Col Sir A G Weigall KCMG, Petwood, Woodhall Spa, for Shy Maid (Supp 1928), chestnut filly bred by Tresham Gilbey, Whitehall, Bishop's Stortford; s Bridgewater 7085, d 3992 Waiting Maid by Arthur D. 593.'

Found another reference to a Millbridge put this one might be a filly.
Transactions of the Highland & Agricultural Society of Scotland 1936 p46.
'...was first and Champion at the Highland Show in 1933 "Merry Ann" by "Ardavon" first and Hunter Improvement Society Medal, Highland Show, 1933, and first and Champion Filly at the Great Yorkshire Show, 1933, and also a premium at Islington Show, 1934. "Millbridge" by "Corbridge" was first at the Royal Show in 1935, and premium at Islington this year....'

Cheers
Suzy
