Same here, didn't expect total result in fields but even stable buckets still froze. We also had -9. I put 2 tablespoons in standard bucket. How much is enough, or does it not work when temp gets this low. Also, where is cheapest place to buy. Our chemist charges £1.79 for 100ml. Ouch! |

My sugar beet was solid this morning, i don,t have any glycerine so tonight i have put some veggie oil on top of the water, not sure if it works but worth a try, will be no good for the water buckets though. To save time last night i filled all my water containers and put them in the car ready for this morning, they were frozen solid so that was a waste of time |

We put our sugarbeet bucket in a bigger tub filled with hay with a feedbag over the top with more hay over it - has stopped it freezing solid so far.... |

Well, thats us frozen.
Waiting for Doug to tell us how to get it into the pipes!!!!!
Our water supply is piped from a spring 3 fields away - we leave the tap running slowly but that doesn't work when its really cold. |

Thanks Doug but I have other plans for the vodka. Have found 200ml bottle in boots for 84p (glycerin not vodka) That's better. But they say not available any bigger. Surely it must be. Have put whole bottle in field water, about 20 gallons and half bottle in stable buckets. We will see. Off now to buy more glycerine and MUCH more vodka. |
