I hope they like their presents. My turkey, Beau, had a football that he loved. He used to kick it about and walk after it to kick it again. Maybe Bernard would like one |

My chickens loved mealworms.
We also had a robin who cottoned on and had his own dish of them as well .
When I ran out I used dried ones instead, chickens were fine about it but Robin was most put out. He just looked at his bowl and then stared at me as if to say "dried?" |

Ooooo I say, how mightily handsome he is - and those lovely bronze feathers.
I'm not sure he should have opened his present before Christmas though |

He's gorgeous . I think maybe Beau was copyng my dogs originally. The dogs were very good with him--when he realised Beau liked the ball Harry( who was part GSD/ part something else/part clown) would go and get it and roll it towards him with his nose. |

Bernard was not a happy turkey today, he dose not do snow, Mrs Matthews was happily playing in the woods with the chickens hiding under a tree and poor Bernard was so upset at being left home alone lets hope it melts soon so he can come out and play again. |

Sally, none of my birds like getting cold feet, so I tend to use the snow shovel to make them little paths around their paddock, the yard and gardens. It works for us here.

Sally, My camera died a couple of months ago.
I think John has already bought me a new one for christmas because I keep saying I am going to get a new one, and he keeps putting me off.
Will take some of the peafowl in the snow when I have said camera, and it next snows...... |

Thats great Lynda they are great to have around, i am sure he/she will live happily with the chickens, Bernard did before Mrs Matthews arrived, just make sure if it is a hatch door its big enough for the turkey or you may find it wedged in the hole. I am trying to see if we can get another one as i would rather have a live one for lunch than one on my plate
Pat you will have to act all surprised when you open the camera i am looking forward to your photos, never tire of seeing peoples pictures. |

sadly Sally I am too late , I went to 3 turkey farms in our area and all the turkey have already been killed , not one left one farmer said he wouldnt sell them alive anyway ??? why I wonder and another said he only had breeding stock left and wouldnt sell any of those so we came home with our cage empty and I had made up my mind to get two ! oh well I will look out for a rescue one or two. |

Awww thats a shame, after i had posted today i remember reading that they like to hang them for 10days after killing them . I know the hens don,t lay too many eggs so they seem to hang on to the breeding stock, such a shame but i am sure one will come along when you least expect it its a shame you were not so far away and maybe i could of tried to find one up here for you. |
