Sorry, just wanted to share a big with everyone!!
New girlie arrived 2 weeks ago yesterday and I am soooo pleased with her!! She's only 5, bless her, and was bred and born at her last home, so coming to live with us must have been a huge upheaval and lot of stress for her.
We had a bit of a wobble last week with her being a bit unsettled in the stable and a bit so decided to take the pressure of us all a bit and do a bit more groundwork and chilling out. Did a bit of lunging and she was sooo good - did lots of transitions just on voice command!
My daughter took her for an amble on the beach and she was so chilled out she decided to have a little canter - all looking very relaxed!
I know we've got a long way to go and I'm sure there will be many ups and downs, but she is such a lovely girl I'm sure she will cope with whatever we ask of her!
By the way, she is half arab, half highland pony - she really makes me laugh as she looks like an arab with hairy legs, especially the backs of her knees!!! Her dad is Hakkari (mustaphah x Silver Wings Quality) so if anyone has any info on this breeding that would be fab!!
I will def get some photos on here (just got to sort out a photobucket/flickr account!)..... and then no doubt bore everyone with a photo overload!!

sorry, just been dying to use that one!
She sounds lovely - the only highland x arab I have seen was basically a highland with little arab feet - so I'd be very interested to see your girl. |

P.S, Mustaphah was 55.63% Crabbet and was the 1991 British National Champion Stallion according to the info on Allbreeds. |

Photos on another post as got myself in a right muddle trying to get them on
Having looked at other people's horses, now thinking she doesn't look massively araby.... but she is BEAUTIFUL to me!!! Think she is going to be an awesome pony... although I fear she may get dressed in pink a lot!! |
