Anyone recommend somewhere to buy a bridle. Looking for basic, leather light brown bridle, don't use a noseband and she is small cob size or large pony size (if that makes any sense!!) Don't want anything chunky. I know you peeps will be full of good ideas....

We have spoken aboutr bridles on here before. A lot of people like myself find it difficult to buy a complete bridle for an arab, my quarter horses are the same. Both breeds are shorter in the face and wider in the brow band than many breeds. I say this is for extra brain room.

My solution is to buy cob size cheek and head piece with a full size browband. I also don't use a noseband, so if I bought a complete bridle there are a few items to sell on.

It all depends on the size of the horse - with mine it's been a case of pony sized cheeks and a cob headpiece/browband.

Best thing is to find a saddler who will let you make one up out of different parts.

TC know the feeling have lovely dark brown saddle with black bridleas I bought nice full size brown bridle really fine leather from Ebay hardly been used, and the cheek pieces were too long so they have been sent away to be shortened, although a cob size does fit Arabi I just had to have this bridle as it was so fine and perfect for an Arab, most of the ones in the tack shop are made for big warmblood types and would look silly on him.

Yes!! Have just ordered a western bridle with a vee brow band from Deepwater tack in Dumfries. The guy took her measurements and assured me it will be fine to fit her. I will let you know how it looks when it gets here. £45 not bad!!
