Just to give me an idea, what would you pay for an 8 year old pure bred gelding, who has done nothing, not even a fun ride. He has no shoes on, and is not currently in proper work,, He is also rather nappy (I think foot sore) and very spooky. I would say he is a nice person, but not a novice ride. Any ideas?

I think that's hard to answer as different area's seem to be different when it comes to horse prices. Down here the horse you have described would be worth between £800-£2000, but that is based purely on what you have written above.

I would say £750 - £1200 please dont be offended.
If financially possible send him for 3-4 weeks schooling and traffic proofing etc. It is possible to do with the right trainer but your looking to spend aprox £600
If you can make him into a sensible hack with view to go on maybe you can get £2200.
If he is tall and correct with lots to offer I would seriously send him away for a few weeks training.
If he is, lets say, not much to offer, accept a low price to a wonderful home as a pet/companion |

Many years experience owning & riding my own horses. Fell in love with Arabians at 11 years old when given a ride on "Trevallion", a 3/4 bred who was a livery where I worked as a stablehand. I have never forgotten that ride, Thank You Yvonne- should you ever read this!I now have 2 beautiful purebreds.
