We have temporarily fenced off a bit of paddock with some ragwort in until we get chance to dig it up using electric fencing that isn't connected into the main system. Went up tonight to find the mares had got the fence down. Dutifully began putting it back up, then discovered my old mare, Biba had grabbed the electric tape IN HER MOUTH and was clearly going 'You can't fool me - this isn't connected!".
Cheeky cow - she could at least have waited until I'd gone before she started to demolish it! The ragwort is now tomorrow's number one priority!
What a monkey! My mare used to do that all the time at our previous yard. The farmer thought it was ok to just turn it on now and then, but she knew when it was off and would grab it in her teeth and pull the whole lot up. They are so clever!
As soon as you connect it up it whines - and if its not whining then ours have a number of ways of subverting it; including pulling the stakes out, climbing through the middle of it and jumping over it. If it whines they leave it well alone (won't go anywhere near it). Good pic Fee
