We have a cat called Kitten, although her 'official' name is Felicia (she came from a garage...)
But our youngest stallion is called 'The Bugger', as he was 'Buggerlugs' when little, before he had an official name...also his dad's nickname is Bagger (all the fault of H&H who misprinted his name MarimbaH as MarimbaG), so Bugger and Bagger go together nicely!

Am loving this thread!
Well my boy Chewy is affectionately known as The Beast or alternatively Chewychomp if he is in a sweet mood
My husky Rio usually is ReeRee with me, (or Wolfman if it's my OH talking to him) (Oh or actually BadWolf - a dr who reference!)
Max (Westie) is Maximus Decimus Merilious, MaxieMoo, MaxiMoomin just depending what comes easily at the time!
My OH (Sebastian) is usually called Sebalina! Ha, he doesn't like that much! |

We call Arabi Arabina Ribena, don't ask why just cos it sounds silly really
Forgot this one my boyfriend Peter was nicknamed Pee Wee years ago when we worked together, and my Sister and all my mates call him it now and he loves it not.
Tanya I am sure your BF loves being called Sebalina just as much as Peter loves being called Pee Wee, bless them aren't we cruel |

Garnet was Garnie Warnie and her big boyfriend Taggart is Taggy Waggy. Her other big boyfriend Jim the Cob was Jim Jam or The Jamus (because my Auntie Pat used to call my Uncle Jimmy Jamus) and because he could be rude and pushy I also used to refer to him as 'You big black b.......' until told that this was politically incorrect even though my sig pic shows quite clearly that he was black.........
Vlacq Redwood Reflection is Red or Big Lad (in fact Jim was Big Lad as well come to think of it) but his 'callsign' is Reddy Red Red. He looks up to check it's me but wouldn't think of walking to meet me.......
Our last dog Tammy was Basil Brush and Basil is now the generic term for any West Highland - as i 'Oh look there's a Basil walking past'. OH Ian is Barry, and we have on occasion met people who thought he was really called Barry . He gets quite annoyed for some reason! |

Loving this thread and howling at miss ginger knickers!!!!
My old girl Tara was called Ta-ra-ra bum-de-aye then "Old Ma Tara" in later life
Her grandsons as follows....
Eddie (eduardo) started off as "Steady eddie" following by "ever ready Eddie" As if he spotted you in his field he would make a bee line at 90 miles an hour towards you!!! He then became "eddie the eagle" due to him flying through the air and cavorting about in his field showing off!! Then as some of you will already know....Elmdale eduardo`s new name is...Elmdale Eduardo INTERNATIONAL MAN OF MYSTERY
Eric (enrique) eddie`s full brother was just as cheeky and full of fun as a foal which earned him the name "eric the viking!!!" He has since been called eager eric!!! due to his love of his food!!!
My best two names were when i had two colt foals one by Maraday summer morn and the other by sunray scinnamon, well the one boy elmdale maximillion was nicked "mad max" as he used to carear around the field with broken branches in his mouth and run up to you looking like he would not stop!!! The other one "elmdale somer morn" (pet name jake) was nicked named "gentleman Jake" as he used to quietly trot over and prod you with his muzzle very gently as if to say "i am here, did you want me?" I have been so lucky over the years of breeding to have shared my life with such lovely characters, i never forget any of them. |

mine have silly nicknames too, no idea why and they are quite embarassing but Arristakrat gets called Arri-kebabbles, which then somehow morphs into Arri-kebabs, kebabs and kebabness, bless him. Finito gets called Finnegan, then Michael finnegan beginagain, how daft are we, our filly Affinitee gets called Dragonara because of the faces she pulls and more recently Squirt because she's always in season!!! |

we took in an enormous dog from the RSPCA many years ago, and in the pre-naming discussion someone came up with Arfur Naffgun as a joke, (one side of his pedigree was obviously Afghan Hound). He remained Arthur for the rest of his life ! The other half of his pedigree remained open to speculation - he was taller than any Afghan we ever saw - but the vet's professional opinion was Pit Pony ! |

Miss Ginger Knickers is absolutely gorgeous, rather like her nick name too.
My orange boy is called the Orange Fairy as he's the only Arab on the yard and looks very fairylike compared to all the big hunter types there. He also gets referred to as the Barbie doll pony by some people.........he's not a pony........he's 15.1 !
