I went on Saturday, although every year the whooping and hollering drives me nuts (I still don't see the point of it - generally the horse is trotting fantastically, then some silly person starts making a racket and all you see is a bouncey pathetic canter-y thing being wizzed in tight circles!). But each to their own!
Anyway, thought the ridden horses were absolutely stunning and would happily have taking many many of them home.
My question to others - I felt that quite a few of the in hand horses, seemed to have very very weak back ends, and weak 'hind thighs' - not the correct terminology, but you;ll know where I'm coming from!
Thoughts? Am I being overtly critical, or fair? |

Well done to everyone who competed.
I am in love with Khlassic Design. If you are reading this Abbi.... I want to have a ride on him one day, pretty please.
Congratulations on your HOYS ticket.

You are as you say a "lay person" and very new to the arab arena - yet you publicly dismiss the British National Champion as challenging"?
Knowing the horse now for 3 years I can assure you that he may be extremely showy in the ring, as that is his current job which he does very well; but he is anything but "challenging". His owners would welcome you, as they did the hoards of people wanting to look at him at Malvern, into his stable for a cuddle which he would be happy to give. He is the sweetest natured, most trustworthy stallion I have met in a long time.
I'm sure you meant no harm, but just think before casting baseless assumption on a public forum...
Thank you

Very well put Karen. Im a huge fan of Psy Dream as he is the sire of my gelding. I would love a cuddle with him
I think the word should have been expressive rather than challenging |

He certainly is, and proving to be a fabulous sire too
Have to say, one of my highlights had to be CAS Sabur - I've never seen him in the flesh before and I thought he was MAGNIFICENT !!! At one point, someone in the stands whistled loudly and that horse just GREW . Amazing, testosterone fuelled macho man, awesome ! |

Hopefully HandH will be printing a little piece/photo of the senior young handler winner Jevon Gilham. Fferzan who won the junior handler with Olivia Lush took the geling HOYS ticket. Master Design GA leading sire for the 4th year running! |
