What a great sticker. It reminds me of a little story in a Scottish local paper that a friend sent me. The mounted police were at a football match to control the crowds and as they were leaving the game some fans went over to see the policewoman's hors. As he leant to rest a leg he was pinning one of the fans slightly against the wall. The fan said "Your horse is tired, miss" and the policewoman replied "So would you be if you'd been between my legs all day". In these politically correct days she would probably be disciplined for that remark.

Well, you say 'those were the days' but we were waiting in a bus shelter for our taxi on the way home from the Take That concert the other night. There was my sister, my mum and her friend who are both in their 60's, me plus my two children, and two bobbies walked past.
One said 'Are you alright, ladies?' 'Yes, thanks, we're just waiting for our taxi. He's late!' Bobby says, 'Well, don't worry. If he's not here when we walk back, I'll take you all home' My mum 'oo, that's kind of you!' (laughing) Bobby 'I meant back to my home, not yours'
Mum reckoned it was the best offer she'd had for a while!
I do like British bobbies for their sense of humour sometimes. French Gendarmes are misery guts in comparison. |
