Hi, I am asking for your help. This is unbelievable but 2 cob colts (1 black and White, 1 Black) have been abandoned and they were in the barnsley North area, Brierley/Cudworth but are using the transpennine way and were last seen on a main road in Ardsley. I believe that the police managed to herd them into a field as they were holding up traffic. These colts are scared and unhandlable, mainly because they have been shot at (and one has a pellet embedded in him) and are being chased by youths on motorbikes and dogs. In addition to this one has a headcollar fastened around his neck that is very, very tight and looks like it may be embedded. If you see them, or can look out for them please let me know. Initial vet costs will be covered and I am trying to persuade the powers that be to pay for their castration (but they have to find them first) Please be vigilant they are not arabs, and of little monetary value, but I know we are all horse lovers here.

Sorry the little guys are in peril. Good luck, but I am too far away to help spot them.

This is terrible. Are you on Facebook Jackiedo? If not, if you want to pm me some text with a contact number I will put it on mine. I don't actually use facebook much--even so, it's amazing how fast stuff can spread on there and it may be a way to get to more people.

the problem I have with facebook is that it does get more views, but it also attracts other idiots who would like to go and shoot at them, whereas this way it hits a target audience

Of course--hadn't thought of that. I have just seen a hugely successful result finding a client's dog who was missing thanks to the response on Facebook and lots of people printing off posters and putting them up everywhere, but you are right, this is a bit different.
If it was just "friends" of people on AL posting on Facebook though, hopefully they would be the right kind of people?

What a shame for them, I hope someone sees them and helps rather than terrify the life out of them, good luck.

It's not far from me either. Poor babies.
I'll post this on H&H forum if it's not already on there.
If the police herded them into a field are they not still in there?

Unfortunately we are trying to find out which field they herded them into. The land owner then needs to complain. very beurocratic I know, I saw them personally in the children's park on Darfield Road

looks like they got out of that field and are back on the trrail. I think someone from IH discussion group has found them, they have gone to other horses. If they are not spooked they may stay around. I am off to look tomorrow, and taking my camera. I hope they stay on public land for the time being
