Yesterday was our first party for nearly 2 years apart from two outings last April which we squeezed in between my recovering enough from my illness to be able to hold the reins and Red getting lami so it was brilliant to be out again. We went to a cone driving and le trec training day run by BDS Shropshire. The morning was training and practice. We knocked at least 5 cones in each of our practice rounds (dislodging the ball on top incurs 5 penalty points) and the trec obstacles were mostly quite scary - even the line of shavings where you had to halt for 10 seconds with front feet one side of the line and hind feet the other caused a major conniption fit at first, but Red soon got the hang of it, bless him, and in the afternoon we were 4th in cones with a clear round but 4 time penalties, 5th in le trec and 6th overall. It was terrific fun and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. No action pics unfortunately but he looked very handsome posing with his rosette!
