I bought a bag yesterday, I soaked about just under half a round stubbs scoop, well it made loads, I only wanted a bit as I wanted to increase gradually, I just wanted to know how much you would soak for two feeds? he is about 15.1 and he will be having it with half a scoop of Alpha oil, I also noticed you don't need any balancer with it which I thought was really good considering the price, lets just see if it works he currently has a big round belly with no condition anywhere else, so I am hoping with a bit of work and better feed he will round off nicely. Any advice is very welcome.

I have had my rescue mare for 5 weeks,at first i tried a different conditioning feed but she looked no better after 3 weeks, she was 50kg underweight.I now have her on calm & condition and unmollassed chaff with a dash of linseed oil and after just 10 days there is a huge improvement.I did find that the amount i was told to soak was to much so soaked 1/2 scoop for 2 feeds and have gradually increased to 3/4 scoop for 2 feeds and there is no need to up it as she,s doing great on it. |

I use two coffee mugs full which ends up making 1/2 round scoop full when soaked - if that helps? My 16.1hh Anglo mare has this amount per day for maintenance with full scoop of graze on, vit&mins and Ad lib haylage.
You could always phone A&P. I found them very helpful when I spoke to them |

I have recently started using this and am also very impressed with it! My arab mare has half/three quarters a scoop twice a day & my cob has a whole scoop twice a day. I'l probably be increasing my cobs amount a bit further but thats the perfect amount for my arab and she's about 14.3. Hope this helped a little! |

I feed a full scoop of wet Calm and Condition twice a day. I would say about a quarter of a scoop of dry pellets makes a full scoop once soaked? |

Thanks everyone I will aim to feed 1 wet scoop per day once I have introduced it gradually and see how he goes, he loves it though was never very interested in his short feed before, now he cant wait to eat it, I also can stop buying sugar beet as it already has it should save some money that way, I will let you know how he does on it. |

Hi Liz,
We have just started using it on Emira and Fharida. They have both wintered well, but need a bit of fat (err, condition, to be turned into muscle immediately afterwards, I might add), on their bums and back.
Emira is having one scoop a meal on top of her D&H Buildup Mix, and one scoop of Alpha oil for the next few weeks. She is being ridden 4-5 times a week, and should come to look as good as she did last year. The hill work around our way does help.
Fharida is only having half a scoop as she put weight on over winter, we reduced her feed and she had to have three different saddles during that time as she changed shape as she is still growing, (out - not up). Fharida has it with one scoop of Alpha Oil and half a scoop of Spillers Horse and Pony cubes, so all low heating stuff. And they are both out grazing all day, and get some haylage in with their hay at night, (as a treat really, as we don't do treats othewise).
They are both beginning to get their condition back, but Emira will take slightly longer as she is being worked quite hard. We have a very ambitious rider for her who wants to win everything this year, so condition is everything, except the manners and the ride and ...
I work on the principle of 2 scoops to a 2 gallon bucket, and that should make six scoops of feed in total. It lasts us just over two days, with both of them munching on it. They like it as well, which us a plus. |
Here they are

I use C&C because that's what my boy was fed when I bought him last year. In the depths of the winter he was having 3/4 of a Stubbs scoop a day. He now has a 1 pint jug full once a day. His coat is lovely, he's well covered & full of beans. I'd never used it before, but it seems to suit him & also seems quite economical to use. I also give him a pre/probiotic & alfalfa. |
