I know that I might be considered an old fashioned sort of person, but since when does a candidate for this prestigious position tout for votes on F.B?

I find the whole thing very distasteful.

Shouldn't people have the right to support their choice anyway they like? Seems to me anyone standing for a position of power has the right to canvas for votes.....Ihate turning on the tv during election time only to find the program i want to watch is starting 10 mins late due to a party political broadcast but i don't think it distasteful or go on line to complain...!!

I wasn't going to post on here again, but really wanted to say that I would have thought people could at least give Susan a bit of grace as she took on the role during possibly her worst year. Maybe she could have had more guidance?
I sincerely hope she goes for it again at a later date, she at least got us in H&H for all the right reasons with her superb article on choosing the arabian for it's athletic use rather than just it's looks.
If any Anglo or Partbred person like SueN or Lynda on this thread stood for president I would be the first to vote for them in and be proud of them standing. I wish more Part bred/Anglo people would stand for president, does it matter what you breed as long as you are committed and want to represent the society?
The voting aspect is a difficult one, JMO here but if one campagnes online then the other should as well, maybe start a page for both? it's fair then.

Applause I know one candidate breeds part breds and anglo's. In my opinion as it happens she makes the perfect candidate.
The point I'm making is people who soley breed part breds or anglo's are able to put themselves forward to be president and so they should, it's a free country, also that the originator of this thread felt it unfair and wrong that one candidate should promote themselves online.
I just think if one candidate asks for vote online then both should have the ability to do the same.
If one does not have access to these forums or doesn't want to then they will be at a disadvantage that is what is very unfair ....just my opinion here!

I'm not saying it is right or wrong to campaign for votes online as in this day and age the internet is used more and more and trying to get votes for oneself makes it an obvious tool.

One problem I find when posting on here is people think you are politically motivated and say things on here in such a way to have a dig or get support? Strangely I have no political motive on either candidate and just soley look at their resume to choose my president.

Years ago I never imagined that while enjoying my hobby I would have to tread so carefully for fear of upsetting the wrong people in life... sad :(

If people feel that strongly about there beinga support group for one and not the other why has nobody thought to just set one up rather than complain about it?

Missed the campaigner on FB. (Obviously not one of my 'friends') I have to ask WHY whoever it is should feel the need to go on a networking site at all? Voting papers and associated literature is sent out to all AHS members anyway, so what more can be said.

I may be old-fashioned in my view, but I feel there is a right and wrong way to go about things. At the end of the day lets hope the Best Candidate wins the Vote.
