Hi im a bit new to all this and was just wondering if anyone could help me establish what catagory my boy falls into with his breeding etc, from what i gather he is french bred? and bred for racing but no one seems to mention french bred horses much, only your polish, russian, eyptian, crabbet etc. Maybe he is linked to some of these types ?(sorry but a total novice to all this breeding stuff). If anyone out there has any relatives i would love to see any pic's to see if there is any resemblances http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/khair+to+go Thanks

Well Wiking was Polish bred and exported to the USA, So were Orzel and Zbrucz...
Burhan is Egyptian
Cherie Bibi was bred in France, so a good mixture, the common thread seems to be racing. |

We had Kaccara (Kenny) by Khairouan and he was fabulous. Always chirpy and good at everything he was asked to do. We sold him to a friend (so wish we hadn't) who then sold him on to Corfu and I would love to hear how he is. Few pics below for you to compare to your boy. Kenny was 100% French bred.

I have 2 by Khairouan.....CS Khan and Kizhi(greys)....both multiple winners on the racecourse and now FEI Endurance qualified. Also a grand-daughter and a grand-son of Wiking.....Whisper(bay and Wikkara (chestnut),again both multiple winners on the racecourse and Wikkara was 2010 UK Champion Racehorse. Sorry no photos as I'm a computer numpty! although there is one of Kizhi on allbreeds. Callisto is right in that the common thread seems to be racing.

My mare is from a French stallion and has polish in her breeding as well. She was bred for racing but I gather wasn't good enough. |

Some lovely breeding, Cheri Bibi was the sire of Bengali D'albret, who you can see on the Shandwell Stud web site. He won 16 races, placed in 7 out of 24 starts, some record. Bengali is one of those stallions I have earmarked for consideration as a future sire for one of our girls, if we don't leave it too long. He has an amazing engine and with such a stunning record that few can match, and he is an uncle to your boy
As said above, some polish blood, and some interesting breeding back through Haroun, which is not the same 98% Crabbet Haroun as sired Harkem. On allbreed, if you click on the i within a circle, you will open up some more information for each horse in the pedigree, where it exists, it is quite enlightening sometimes.
Have fun with him...

My gelding Rubi is a second cousin, I think, as he's by Bengali D'Albret, who's by Cheri Bibi. |

I like looking at pedigrees, if you go back a generation in Allbreed to see Fly to Go, you will find some more interesting blood. Proboj is a very influential boy found in the Russian stock, as is the lady Taktika, whom you will find in the (yes more racing) russian Sambist bloodlines, through the 'horse of the century' Balaton . Negatiw will lead you back to Naseem and then to Skowronek, so some Crabbet blood, albeit with Polish origins (Skowronek was an import/export, being sold to Russia eventually).
On Kairouan side as well as the french breeding there is another trace back to Crabbet through Morafic, Nazeer and Mansour. Nazeer traces back to Astraled and Queen of Sheba, again Crabbet. Nazeer was also the sire of the Egyptian (with added Crabbet) Aswan, who was gifted to Russia...
Talk about happy families...
All of our horses are distant relations of your boy, (and probably everybody elses as it happens) through horses like Nazeer, Morafic and most commonly Skowronek. Failing all that, Astraled is probably the earliest influence I look for in many pedigrees. |
