Had a briliant day today. Was invited to go and see the lovely Chips (Alkara Cassino - H Tobago x Rose Aboud) who I bred nearly two years ago and who had left home at 6 months.
I knew that he was a big boy from talking to Caryn but I don't think anything could have prepared me for the size of my "little munchkin". I'm not tall but this photo is just silly!!
Caryn also treated us to a drive around the area with Roger and his four-wheeler. Never thought I'd be in a cart drawn by a purebred. What a superstar dear ol' Roger is. Chips has some big shoes to fill!
Lovely afternoon Caryn - wish all my foals could find "mums like you"
Karen, I'm so pleased you were thrilled with our "little man"; as you know, I couldn't be happier with Chips. It's great to know you're pleased that I've done him well! OMG he looks more than mahoosive in those photos - surely he can't be THAT bum-high (perhaps I just don't notice when I'm handling him)!
It was great to "show-off" with Roger too; I loved that you weren't fazed (when we were already driving!), when I said that Roger hadn't been in harness for 2 years - I love that Arabs have such good memories and one doesn't have to constantly remind them. I know the drive was only a couple of miles but at least you got an overview of the farm, and of the sort of areas that Chips walks in-hand. Considering that we live in such a built-up area, we really are fortunate with the quiet residential roads and the bridleways we have in the area.
YOs were also very pleased to meet you and Anne and everyone covets your lovely jacket!
Caryn PS Debs - he's 21 months old and I measured him at 15.1hh last month, with 2.5 -3 inches to grow
