I can't believe that in some of the photos these poor things are being sat on, one can only pray that the various charities can cope with the enormity of the crisis, it must be heartbreaking work to be at the coalface so to speak.

I've donated to ESMA and Brooke - will go and give some more in a minute.

The pictures are horrific and I imagine that they are the luckier ones sadly.

Thank you Suyents.

Smiler I guess the more threads the better, tis human nature to look at the new and not 'see' the old once they have been there a while.

I will donate Vera today. I was busy yesterday with the vet and farrier and only came on for a few moments and saw this thread.

I think we are all appalled at what we are seeing, just dont try and humilate people by saying things like that please to me.
I give my bit, might only be a bit but all the same I give.

I received this from the Donkey Sanctuary after I emailed them. Still can't get those poor donkeys at the Zoo out of my mind.

Our team have been helping with the joint relief effort for animals (horses, camels and donkeys) around the Giza pyramids as we had heard reports of starvation and dehydration problems there. It turned out that the horses were the worst affected, with very few donkeys suffering, but our staff stayed to help with the horses and camels anyway, as it was something of an emergency situation.

Smiler.....Yes, I sent them the name of the zoo and directed them to the other thread. However, I know this is not the answer I wanted.

As for the poor donkeys in the Zoo its highly unlikely they will still be standing , and yes I expect they will be lion food by now , I can only hope they are out of their misery

Lyndilou, I found the same problem when I went to donate to PAF, so to speed things up I went to the Four Paws site and donated to them using paypal, since they are the PAF partners in the pics above.

Sent £100 to Brooke - got extra in pay packet so sent it. Drop in ocean though. I think most of those horses would be better off dead - although that wont help their owners who rely on them to feed the families. Very depressing.

First, thank you all for your kindness and generosity.
I have been asked to post and say that the photos show work being carried out by the Austrian charity Four Paws and also the Princess Alia Foundation, which is the charity i work with. For those of you who wish to donate to PAF directly, please email us at paf.jordan@gmail.com. We are working hard at getting a direct internet payment link!!

I did wonder Suyen how we could donate to PAF. Looked everywhere for a donate button. I know it says 4 Paws is related but it's good to be able to donate straight to PAF
Hurry up with that internet link please!!Paypal
