We were lucky enough to visit the Tersk Stud last week whilst on holiday in Russia To say it was a dream come true is an understatement...
The Stud were so very kind - they provided a translator and we were able to see all of the stallions (in their stables and loose), wander around the mare paddocks (I honestly could have brought home soooooo many with me), see some of the sale horses and the livery yard (how amazing to be a livery on a farm with so much history!!)
They also gave us each an individual goody bag with a framed photo of our favourite stallion from the day plus key rings, fridge magnets, stud booklets, posters and a very lovely Tersk stud mug
I could go on and on... But I won't, don't worry! I took about 2000 photos but here are a couple if anyone is interested Unfortunately they just don't do the horses or stud justice.
Miles and miles of open plains
At last those famous mountains come into view!
The entrance!
That famous view!
The stallion boxes
Saying hello
Nizami (WH Justice x Nairobi)
Napevny (Piligrim x Nagruzka)
Banderos (WH Justice x Borodina)
Nitagor (Gordon x ) - my mare's half brother
The mare paddocks
Getting to ride Mr Vladimir Putin's stallion, Sirdar (Nejmo Zommorod x St Padova Statement)
With those famous statues...
Sunset as we left
Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou - and see you again next year!

Didn't Dr. Bancroft organise a similar trip fairly recently? Perhaps she could give the low down on it? Certainly sounds a wonderful opportunity.

Wow - how lucky you are. I would have loved to go to their open day this year but I think it clashes with the nationals. |
