I am very proud to announce the arrival of a stunning black filly from my mare Phoebe at 9pm on 14th Feb.
It was a very hard and long night as baby wouldnt feed and Phoebe had been running mlk all week so had lost all her vital first milk. So in end baby had to have a plasma transfusion.
I am very happy to say now both mother and baby are doing really well. She is feeding fine and mum is absolutely devoted - as we all are!
I will get photos as soon as I can work out how to post them lol
Congratulations on your stunning filly, we had to do a plasma transfusion a few years ago, not a nice thing to go through but at least your yound lady looks fit and well now
Thanks for all your comments! I cannot describe how made up and in love I am!! And yes it was a horrible experience to go through with the transfusion but she is as fit and healthy as ever now!! We have decided to call her NLB Shakhira. Bit of a story to it - as I bought Phoebe her dam unseen a couple of years back after having to sell her sister Shakhira (the mare in my profile pic and we were forced to cut down numbers) about 6 years ago. When I saw her advertised I had to have her as she was a half sister of Khira and hence we have named her filly after her. :) xx
