I got a friend of mine to long rein and back kiara for me just after christmas as i had the ground work done but hadn't the time or help to do the longreining and backing the way I would like. He longreinined her for two weeks when she came in and was riding her with in three weeks. He just got her backed and basically got her going forward walk and trot he is a race horse man so this is all he done but enough for me just to jump on and go. Kiara had three weeks off after this and last sunday I tacked her up for the first and she was so good and rode like a just backed horse. Kiara has been schooling a week now 10-15 mins every 2-3 days and today is her fourth day ridden with us and helen came up today so she could hack xsara out and I would get a lead for kiara so I could see what she was like on the raods before attempting to take her out on my own as the road is quite busy with ignorant drivers. Well she spooked as soon as we went out the gate and slipped losing her footing slightly but stayed on her foot it was a nblue barrel hiding behind the fence lol. But after that she was fine plenty for her to look at but she didn't react too much and I just took a lead going away. She seen cars, vans, jeeps, motor bike and was fine with it all. She then lead on the way home ears *****ed and never looked at a thing. When we got back helen had a little go on her and she had her going lovely. asked her to come into an outline which she happy obliged I have been working on riding into corners, correct bend ect teaching her right from the start as she has no bad habits lol. She is so easy to ride and work with and so smart learns so quick and she seems to be able to go forever lol so strong and mature for her age compared to what xsara was at the same age.
