Sorry Lynda, the daylight hours was with specific reference to Cushingoid horses... the symptoms are much worse during the winter months (shorter daylight hours) and they seem to get the most cases in Jan/Feb.

Some Cushingoid ponies (that haven't had Lami I assume) can come off meds during the summer months as the symptoms almost dissapear

That's really interesting about the daylight hours. Wonder if that is a widely know theory? Be good for people to get hold of the light lamps for their cushings horses/ponies.

Bet you are on tenterhooks waiting for the results, fingers crossed for you .

Yes, Jaj, my vet and farrier told me about the daylight thing with Cushings.

You can get lamps that make it looklike daylight in the dark gloomy winter months.

He's feeling much better thank you! Bounced out of his box on Friday and has been a complete nuisance ever since he he! His stable mirror has been installed and he is completely in love! Wish I would have got him one before (he never showed much interest in Pasha's) - even left his hay to go and have a snooze next to his best chum! So so sweet!

Going to speak to the vet tomorrow but I like to air on the side of caution so think he'll be in all next week whilst I ease him off his 1 Danillon a day and also want him to see the farrier before he's let lose!

Must remember to get some sedalin too :D

He would have been in 12 days on Friday when the vet comes back - he was in 5 weeks last time, but then he had full blown Lami... Will have to wait and see what the vet says!
