Does anyone remember an arabian breeder from Mawdesley, nr. Ormskirk, Lancs. I think the name was B.J. Lowe and we are going back to the beginning of the 90's. I cant remember what they owned, but am trying to connect a grey arabian gelding to a breeder in the north west for someone and not having much luck. The original owner of the gelding bought it in the north west and it was either up near Ormskirk or near Frodsham in Cheshire but no names are springing to mind for that area.

I know its a long shot but someone may remember something, how small

Hi Tina, had a quick look in the stud directories for that time and this entry appeared in 1987/88

Berwick J. Lowe, Berwick Arabians, Gursey Lane Farm, Gursey Lane, Mawdesley, Nr Omrskirk

Standing Habash Shahid/Indian Snowflake 1974
Mares
Minetta Mikeno/ Silvanetta 1966
Blue Nymph Orion/Blue Rhapsody 1975
Abinetta Habash/Minetta 1981

The stud doesn't appear in any later editions, or earlier ones, mine go back to the early seventies

Hope that helps

Thanks Mandy, I never thought of looking in the stud directories. Those names arent ringing bells. I'm now thinking that this gelding must of come from around Frodsham, Cheshire, but dont think it was bred there. It's by Fafner if anyone can help out
