Pat... I did not intend to make further comment as this thread has run its course!! However...our Show schedule stated Anglo Arabs were scheduled for 4.30pm with Pure Arab to follow. Perhaps you misunderstood me when you enquired. I advised that your classes (Pure Arab section) was re-scheduled to approximately 4.30pm which surely does mean I advised you as correctly as I could anticipate (well 4.15 exactly which was stated on the final schedule) so why harp on over 15 minutes
In the event, due to entries not forward on the day and as classes ran on without a break.....Pure Arab classes where judged at 3.30pm Had you allowed an extra half hour earlier arrival time. you would not have missed your class. Other Arab exhibits were present and did not miss the earlier running of Pure Arab classes. Again, very sorry you missed your class. which quite simply, is not my fault
Thats life!!

Babs, re-read your PM to me!! in it you say "the Arab classes are scheduled to start at approximately 4.30" - you did NOT say that my purebred classes started at 4.30!! Why would I think that "Arab classes", in the plural, would mean mine?.
Enough said on this topic as you obviously do not think that you are at fault at all - I bothered to enquire last minute about timings to make sure Avatar had as short as possible wait for his class - and it backfired on me!!! But, please take on board my (and others) suggestions about having timed sections for next years show. |

For heavens sake Pat....please stop gnawing at the same bone
Your PM clearly asks what time the Arab classes were scheduled to start. As I have your entry and know you have Pure Arab, I gave you the timing for your Arab Classes. Had you asked for starting time of Anglo/PBA section, I would have given you that information
It is not possible or practical to schedule classes on a not before basis timetable, and I feel by giving as near as possible time, Exhibitors have a rough idea, and can plan their travelling time accordingly to ensure arrival in good time, and Show organisers are not then blamed for classes missed.
Enough said, I have twice stated I am sorry you missed your class, now, please let matters rest!!!

I feel I must repeat what I heard whilst waiting to speak to someone at the desk. the lady in front of me was very very angry. it seems she had contacted an official on Sunday morning during the show to enquire how things were running and had received a text back saying all well, everything as schedule. she then produced her phone to show the text. she was FURIOUS. She received no sensible explanation and walked away with her hands in the air. As I said previously I heard many other unhappy people. I know it must be a thankless task, but the handling of a difficult and unexpected situation should have been better. And after the event, maybe admit that, rather than wash ones hands of it and blame everyone else for not being clarvoyant. |

gem@aokmeister......I can assure you, NO ONE rang on the day of the show...my phone was in my pocket and did not ring all day. I think the person you are speaking about is Pat Hannay who PM`d me of Friday evening, certainly NOT on the Showday and she was the one showing me the message on her phone, whom you were possibly referring to.
Pat is the only complainant I have had, regarding missing her class. The only other complaint is regarding clipping of foals for which I am waiting to see the show photographs before I can take further action to resolve the matter, for the complainant.
We do our best.....we are not perfect!!

I know it was all very unfortunate and probably best left now as i doubt it will ever be resolved to every ones satisfaction, however, whilst i don,t know pat personaly, i do know what she looks like and the person i refer to was not her. Please realise that hundreds of people love the show, and appreciate all the effort that goes into it, it's just that some people felt they were treated in a very off hand manner over their understandable disappointment, and the 'tough, take it or leave it' attitude was probably the reason disappointment turned to anger. they, as well as show organisers put in much time effort and money, and some understanding of this might have avoided such bad feeling. |

I again state....NO ONE phoned me on the day of the Show...am I now also being accused of not being truthful. Only my mobile number appeared on the schedule....and my phone did not ring all day!! gem@aoakmeister are saying that I am a liar??
I believe you are exaggerating the facts, as I have not received any complaints, other than those two, mentioned earlier on this thread. On the contrary, I have received several supportive PM`s and also quite a good number of letters and phone calls thanking me for such a wonderful show.
Please, now, let this matter rest!!

no I'm not accusing anyone of anything. I agree it's time to leave the subject now, which I intend to do after assuring you and anyone else I have no axe to grind. I don't know pat hannay, I don't know you, and I was not exhibiting but I was at the show and I know what I saw and heard. I have said before I think it's a fabulous show, and you, like all show organisers, deserve a damn medal for all your hard work. however what hapened on Sunday was in many peoples opinion a mistake. It is not a criticism, mistakes happen, just sad that it can't be acknowledged by all that fault did not lie with any one person and every one's point could be taken on board. You and your team did as alway's a brilliant job, but pat has a valid point. I just wish the subject could have been discussed without such anger and blame. |
