After 20 ish years of DIY livery, in August we finally moved to a property with land and stables so that we could live with our horses, and I thought I would share it with you all.
The property had been let go over the past few years so there has been lots of work to do (and still lots more to do!) hence it has taken me this long to post. Anyhow here are a few photos:
This photo was taken when we came to view the place last May, and shows the view from the upstairs balcony (not our caravan!!):
Stable block 1 before:
And after:
Stable block 2 before:
And after:
The back of the house:
The side of the house:
Two of the four paddocks at the side of the house:
The back field:
A corner of the front fields (this has been post and railed now):
A little bit of the top field (and the view out of my bedroom window!):
And just because he is sooo pretty and I cant resist, my yearling Dexter:
There is still lots more fencing to do and 8 more stables to tidy up, but we ran out of time when the horses started coming in at night! The fencing man will be back and fore over the winter to get the rest done, so we will spend the winter concentrating on getting the house sorted out and get back on the stables next spring.
It has been very exciting and at times a little daunting, but we are getting there, and the best part of all is not travelling 68 miles a day to do the horses! Oh and its only 34 miles away from Malvern which is another little bonus.
It just goes to show that dreams can come true, so keep wishing - you may just get what you wish for!

How lucky you are!!! Gorgeous place!!! I am in a situation where our house has been on the market for a year & we have seen our perfect house but can't do anything until we get ours sold.
I know that I should count myself lucky that my horses are only 2 minutes away on our own land, but I so wish to have them right outside like you have & to be able to see the horses out of the house windows would be a dream come true.
So pleased you are now living your dream - enjoy it. |

Wow what an absolutely stunning place Kate!
The land looks so beautiful and peaceful if that makes sense. How many horses have you got? You know you will have to post loads of pictures now that you have whetted our appetites
Dexter is gorgeous ! |

Jen we have 12 horses now - my 8 arabs and Mum's 4 horses that she has collected/rescued over the years, and we have 15 stables which I may have to fill up Planning on covering 2 of my mares next spring, so exciting times ahead. It is very peaceful with only one near neighbour - a farmer who supplies our haylage and straw, which is handy! Fireworks night was wonderful - hardly heard a thing.
Edited to add, that all in all I have had a fantastic year after many hard, grief filled rotten years! First off I sent away my lovely young gelding LVA Damascus to Clare Fitch to be broken in, he had a wonderful first novice season with many wins - he was entered into one open class at the end of the season where he qualified for Hoys! We headed up to watch him, hoping that he would come in the top 10 - he came 5th - actually tying for 4th place! Up against horses with far more experience than him - we were over the moon. Thank you Clare for all your hard work! Secondly, having been a huge fan of Notorious Psy for the past 7 years I can finally say that I am his 'new' owner! I dont have any photos of him yet as he is staying at Clare's for a short while, but here is a link to his page on Lillyview Arabians website: http://www.lillyviewarabians.com/Stallion_frame.htm

Aaah that's truly a lovely place Kate. We too moved into our own place with stables this year and the feeling is immeasurable. Wherabouts are you? I'm about 16 miles from Malvern (I'm in Hereford). Agree about the peace and quiet . The hard work doing the place up is worth all the effort Congratulations on your new home.

Ahh....it looks beautiful...good luck with you dream home. I cannot really complain as my boy is stabled at home but spends his days out in the fields opposite our house (livery )...but one always dreams of land of your own! Meanwhile I'll keep doing the lottery!!! |

Congrats your new place is lovely you can already see a big difference with the work you have put in. You are lucky to have your horses at home with you and will be so much better without all the travelling as now you can spend that extra time with your horses |
