Some of you may remember that i purchased an entire son of Fairlyn Gemini early in the year.Bay with 25%
We have been taking him slowly as he was very immature and still growing like a weed!He is also a big lad standing well over 16.2hh.Its also hard to find the time with Amy now on BD National training with Oscar.
He has progressed very well over the summer and we took him for his first jump lesson yesterday. He has been doing some grid work at home and taken it all in his stride.
He was a very good boy and jumped really well.He did a very big grid and then jumped a small course with fillers.
He makes a very smart shape over a fence and has yet to touch a pole
Friday he has his first dressage competition to go to, just an un affiliated prelim but its a start.
We hope to have him ready for the spring to go eventing
He will also be presented for grading with the TBF as he is eligible as a purebred trakehner being by Gemini out of a state premium mare who already has one graded son.If he grades he has ten mares at one stud to cover before we even advertise him LOL
All exciting stuff for 2011.
Really looking forward to it.
He hasn't been on the box much so we took "Paddy" as a companion. when we got there Paddy went off for a hack around the estate and down the gallops. He had dreams of one day being a racehorse LOL
Then he went down to the cross country and had a "look" at all the jumps.
I wonder if in his little cob mind he thinks he isn't a short legged 14.2 trad cob but actually a 16.2 TB LOL
He went eventing when we had the others out two years ago and everyone gave him funny looks. But he loved it. A trip out in "HIS" wagon, grass to eat and plenty of treats. It was like Cobby heaven.
He loves to take the baby horses x county as the water is his all time favourite thing. He loves to splash about and jump in and out of it.
He is certainly very handy to have about
