Not sure if it appropriate to post this but just wanted some advise in trying to sell/loan my mare.
I had her advertised for sale on Arabianlines all summer with not much response and I have advertised her for loan in the wanted section more recently with again not much response.
I know that horses are not selling at the moment and it is the wrong time of year to be trying to sell/loan a horse as people don't want the extra costs over the winter.
Basically i am pregnant and have 3 horses. I have loaned one of my ridden purebreds to a lovely family on the same yard as me, i am keeping my other ridden mare for myself to lightly hack and i have Lily my 3 year old (will be 4 in spring) palomino part bred arab mare who is too small for me to ever use as a riding horse as she is 13.2hh at the moment. She is beautiful and loving and would really make a cracking childrens show pony but not sure how to find her the perfect home?
I have had her on the preloved website for a while with loads of enquiries but no one has come to see her yet.
I have started backing her but can't carry on due to my pregnancy so if i can't find her a home then she won't do anything for the next year. She has been shown in hand and is desperate to do more- she always waits at the gate when one of the others gets taken out and looks like shes saying ' please take me out, please take me out'.
ive had lots of local interest from teenagers wanting a future pony club pony but shes unfortunately too small.
Where is the best place to advertise her to mums that are looking for show ponys for their children?
The other possibilty would be to loan her to one of the teenagers for a contribution to her keep; you could advertise in your local tack shops. Sometimes people can't afford all the livery costs but would be willing to look after her at your yard and pay for her keep.
