Awww zena, makes sense to me.ive seen horses upset too, the memory of our two mares who had stillborn foals, on both occasions we left the foals with them to come to terms with it just for a while..... i swear i saw Rosie (Spey Crystal ) grieving makes me sad typing this, that babe wasnt meant to be, just because they cannot talk, they have plenty of other ways of expressing feelings..... |

I think they certainly can look like there crying. When I lost my boy I let my mare see him and I never expected to see any kind of expression but she certainly with out a doubt looked like she was going to burst in tears! She knew he was very ill and would wait for him when going out to the field.I've never seen a horse make that kind of face before or since. |

I thought I was going mad when this happened to me! 8 years ago I decided to sell my TB mare to the lady that had been part loaning her from me. On the day I signed her over, I went and sat in the field with my girl, we had lots of cuddles and I explained to her what was happening, Im pretty sure she understood what I was saying to her, she seemed sad and im sure she was crying, he eyes were very wet with no other reason for it. Broke my heart to see her like that and no one believed me when I told them she was crying I do think they can show emotion, we had a special bond and I had never seen her like that. Nikki x |
