Has anyone ever used one? Was it successful?
This is the only avenue I haven't taken with Sylvie after her rearing incident as none of the 'physical' people can find anything that would be causing her to do this to such an extreme and so randomly.
Any thoughts or comments appreciated.

Well one of my friends is learning how to do this and she used Ishara for her course. She isn't going to do it commercially just wanted to see what it was all about and use it with her own animals. Anyway obviously i'd told her a fair bit about the Pixie so I was a little sceptical as to what would come out. But I was surprised as she said things i wouldnt bothered to have mentioned like the fact that in the evening when all the others are munching their hay she loves watching what is going on on the yard and if there are people still around will watch their every move. Also that she is friends with the gelding in the field next door and grazes along the fence line with him. She also said she found parelli intensely irritating LOL and my friend is actually quite into parelli so she wouldn't have said that. Oh and she said her teeth were hurting and when the vet checked they did need doing even though she'd only had them done 5 months previously so I say if someone learning can pick up on these things then worth giving it a go! |

I have used a communicator in the past with very good results. She was correct with a lot of things that made the pieces of the jigsaw fit.
I will PM you the ladies information. I know several people off AL have used her.

I had one out to see my mare- i am the biggest cynic going- and only did it as my father had booked her- well she said some pretty scary things that no one else knew about this mare- she walked into my yard and wouldnt let me speak till she had told me all about this horse- i am now an official convert- but beware i was so impressed i got her to look at my project pony- he was brought to school and sell- and she told me he was uncertain about his future.... OMG now i couldnt possibly sell him- black beauty flash black! |

I think I need to know the name of someone as well. My mare keeps bucking me off! Back OK, Teeth OK, Saddle(s) checked, all OK. Physio said she just doesn't like being told what to do! |

I have only ever sent Brigid a picture of the horse I want her to communicate with.
A really good communicator only needs a photo.
I told her nothing about my mare and she was spot on.

I am a major sceptic, but we had one out to the horses last year. Some of what she said was nonsense, but quite a lot was accurate! Particularly with Gus.
If you want her details Lindsay i can get them for you - shes from around here so wouldnt be too far for her to travel to you.
FWIW i think its an avenue worth pursuing |

Hi Lindsay, I didnt use an animal communicator but a lady near by who is a faith healer and a psyhcic. She knew nothing about my boy but told me he didnt like being told off (which I knew as he sulks, and pinpointed the part of his leg where the xrays had shown some abnormal growths..... Also a faith healer looked at an old TB mare i had with sarcoids. She charmed them without touching her and they all disappeared bar one.... |

I have had the most amazing results from the horse listener, Isobel Hogton. She is a wonderfully unassuming lady who visits our yard from Scotland about every 3 months. She has seen about a dozen of the horses at our yard and has been scarily accurate. I and others have found it so useful with regard to discovering what is truly going on with our horses. She is so supportive between visits too.
I can't recommend Isobel highly enough. |

I have used one in the past and although expensive, it was helpful and very acurate..........in fact frighteningly so!! I couldn't decide though if she was reading me or the horse. Still a bit of a sceptic I guess!!
I can email you her details though Lindsay. |

I'm sorry to say that my experience of Isobel Hogton was less than positive -she told me that my pony was 'blocked', couldn't tell me anything of any note and skipped off into the sunset with £85 for the consult- never again ! |

Wow £85 not a chance . i really dont believe in this .and i agree that it will be you they are reading and going on your body language .yes probably pick up on some signals from the horse but really if we listen enough ourselves the horse tells us what they think , problem is half the time we dont want to know or listen and then when a problem arises u seek expert help n then go awwe yeh thats what i thought n think there amazing (that sounds quite harsh) but just have my own opinion im sure im not the only one that thinks the same way x |

Yes i had isobel out before we lost honey to try and found out what was going on with her and to find out what happened when she went out on loan and why she came back so sore. Is was amazing what we were told bringing up things we had forgotten about her past and told us what did happen when she was on loan. Some of what was heard was hurtful to realise honeys views on what went on in her life and as we had her since a weanling and had her 11 years we knew what went on in her life. |

It was Isobel I had and I agree with Xsara, some of what she said was upsetting and I felt awful for the horse for what he'd been through (prior to me buying him!).
I think it's one of those things that is interesting, but as Zena says if you spend enough time with your horse you can read exactly what is going on with them! |

Well I must say I've had Isobel to several of my horses.
Two in particular, the mare in my signature and my black stallion which I owned from 8 months. Without Isobel's help, and although I knew my mare was a complex soul and as her breeder said "she was never the same when I got her back" (Fiona let her go on breeding loan and they bred a colt foal, but won't go into depth but suffice to say Fiona went and collected her sooner than was arranged!!) I still needed some help due to her breeder letting her go on loan, me sending her for backing and then letting her go on breeding loan because of my circumstances at the time.
Isobel was able to open up a huge amount about the mare and told me things she certainly could not have know. 1) that she had a tall gentleman riding her, absolutely not I said, yes she said, so eventually I said my son had ridden her and she said that's him, she likes him, he has a calm nature like your husband (my husband is dead, and yes what she said is true) Also, that someone rode her with one leg longer than the other although this did not bother her....couldn't think who, but then I said that my pelvis was out and that confirmed the person as me because I can never feel comfortable with my stirrups unless I've paid a visit to the osteopath. Also that someone with very strong legs and hands had ridden her, a very grounded person. Argued with Isobel that nobody like that had ridden her, then she said, a person with long brown hair and of small stature...bingo! it was my friend Kate when she was up from London.
I could go on for ages about other things she mentioned, and told me about that she couldn't possibly know. She was fabulous and told me my mare could not remember having foals...and this was due to human intervention when on loan by the breeder and myself!!
Jaffa, my black stallion was rising 5 and was always doing something to himself in the field. He was highly strung and very testosterone charged. Anyhow, vet, osteopath, and physio sent by vet did not help him. Isobel picked up on him that his legs were sore and that he had problems. She used Cranio Sacral on him and he never looked back, although more than one session the money was well worth it.
When in my kitchen she asked how Jaffa saw his foal, which my mare had lost due to his hind foot being caught behind the pelvis. Because my mare, told through Isobel, could not remember having any foals, although this foal had to be cut out of her, I put him in a wheel barrow and took him to her. This mare was branded a rejecting mare by the people who loaned her!! Anyhow, she nickered to her foal, sniffed him, nuzzled him, walked round her stable then back to him nickering softly. Jaffa saw the foal when I wheeled him out of the tack room when he was looking out of his stable which was beside the tack room.
Another was when I let him go to a western woman for some roundpen work (only meant to be away 4 days but had to collect him, but that's another story) Anyhow, Isobel said to me "he tried to tell you he didnt like the woman and said he neighed at me" and she showed how he reacted. Immediately, I remember him screaming at me when I walked from his stable with this woman, but when I looked back and thought "he doesn't like her I also shrugged and thought that I was being silly! How wrong I was and how I regret letting him go to her.
I could list umpteen situations Isobel has related that have been so true, and yet she couldn't have known.
It is unfortunate that some of you have had such bad experiences, but wrong to blacken her name because of such. She does indeed have a very special gift which obviously does not always work because some horses do block. All I can say is that I cannot speak highly enough of her and her work with my horses.

i too am very sceptical, and have never had anybody like that out to me horse as I feel they just read the body language, both mine and the horses, for example start to say something and read your body language as to whether it makes sense to you or not. I'm sure there are some people out there with a special gift, but I for one cannot see how somebody can ready anything from a photograph. |

One of my friends has used an animal communicator, who does her readings over the phone & my friend swears by her, as she has told her things that she couldn't possibly know! I keep meaning out of curiosity really to contact her but never seem to get around to it!! I'll e-mail you the details Lindsay. |

I have also had Isobel out a couple of times and found her quite amazing. She is due to come down to the beds/ herts area in October. I really don't believe that she picks up on peoples body language as she is always totally focused on the horse. She also told me things that she couldn't possibly have known about my mare and did some cranial and back work, after which her shape improved, but also her temperament changed after the first visit. |
