Hi, I live in Australia & I've been on the look out for a new saddle, have had my eye on the podium saddles for a while..
I just recently found a Podium for sale, my problem is its in france so there is no way of me trying it out, I do have a friend here in Aus who's cousin has tried a Podium Champion on a few different horses in queensland Aus & was pretty happy with it fit wise..
however I thought I'd put it out there on this site too & see what others might have to say about them... I was once told that they were a fairly snug fir around the shoulders, & might have a tendency to pinch, the saddle I'm looking at is a 17" extra light, still waiting on an email from the owner to find out the gullet width
does anyone on this site ride in or have ridden in one of these podium saddles???? any info would be greatly appreciated.
I ride a 13 something hand Arabian pony who I ride a crossbred fender, panel style saddle on at the moment.
again I would love some imput,

I'd agree with the assessment that they are tight across the shoulders.
I bought a 2nd hand one as a cheap interim until I've saved enough for another Specialized. It's a 17" wide Textech. Unfortunately it is too narrow for either my crabbet pure bred or my chunky part-bred - and in particular across the shoulders. So it's sitting gathering dust in my tack room until I can be bothered to go through the agony that is e-bay! |

Hi Gemma I was hoping to get one for Dulcie - maybe it would be too narrow? Are you going to Firle? x |

Hi Caro - yes, should be going to Firle (assuming ponies stay sound!) so I'll happily pop it in the back of the car if you'd like. |

okay thank you Gemma your infomation was helpful, due to lack of information I'll probably miss the one I fond on ebay as its just to much money to outlay to import one on a maybe...
will probable look at something else later down the track.
although just out of interest would you be be able to measure across the gullet of yours for me just out of curiosity to see if something similar would fit my girl?? as the ebayer with the one I'm looking at has not gotten back to me yet.. would be interesting to see if my girls smaller frame would be suitable.
cheers |
