UKIAHS TOWERLAND’S SHOW 28TH & 29TH AUGUST 2010
Last year the committee of UKIAHS issued a statement ahead of the Towerlands Show confirming our attitude towards perceived injustices and to confirm our continuing aim to provide a show that has the atmosphere which enables the excellent display of horses and provides excitement and entertainment for the spectator.
We unashamedly repeat that we are a committed group of volunteers intent on bringing to the public an Arabian Horse Show that encourages some of the best horses in the world to be shown. This year sees the 21st anniversary of the show and we are very proud of that fact. The UKIAHS show is definitely one of the top European shows and many people want to exhibit and win here.
The chairman Mrs Janet Court will again be addressing all the handlers before the start of the show in order that they are aware that the best standards of horsemanship will be expected. The bag waving/ noisy encouragement will not be tolerated outside of the competitors’ area (often referred to as the rogues’ gallery). The DCs are on hand during the day and there is usually a committee member on site for all hours of the show. In the event that someone has reasonable grounds for complaint then report the concern at the time.
There will be music and laughter and happiness at such good displays and we do feel that if you don’t want the fun then don’t come.
There is a great amount of work done behind the scenes in running a show and we want you all to enjoy your days at Towerlands. Some of you may not agree with how we conduct the show but we believe that we produce one that has the horse’s welfare at heart and brings a successful and happy conclusion to the showing scene for 2010 in GB.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on the 28th August.
The committee members of UKIAHS
