Hi - just wondering if anyonne has any experience of Barnsby Saddlers? I contacted them after reading an article in Your Horse magazine where they fitted a saddle for a polish arab. The lady I spoke to seemed to understand the idiosyncracies (?) of fitting a saddle to an arab and I am thinking of having them out to my mare. Interested to hear anyone's experiences with them - good or bad ...
Sally has just my gelding with a new saddle and yes she does know what she is talking about. I am very pleased with mine - the only thing was that I did have to insist on a 16.5inch tree as many saddlers do forget how short coupled some arabs can be. This is my 2nd Barnsby.
I had a barnsby saddle (not fitted by them though which may make a difference I suspect) and though it was a lovely little saddle I found it went up mirshid's neck on quite regular occasion as he is quite wide with low withers so had to part with it- as I say though it may well be due to the saddle fitter or may be just shape of horse!
Thanks for the replies. I think I will have Sally out for a visit. When I spoke to her she mentioned having a shorter tree so maybe she learned something from you Nic!
