Lisa - or anyone else that might know...
Where i can find the link to the Blog / story that Lisa and her husband wrote about their journey from Wales to Jordan with their Arabs..?
I was telling a friend about it a few days ago and she wants to read it.. I had it stored in 'my favorites' for ages but it's disappeared..
Thanks

Oh my... what a fantastic journey. Makes me want to saddle up and enjoy something like that with Mila.
Havent read the whole thing but from what i've seen it looks fantastic. And it shows a true bond between them all. |

How have I managed to miss this before? Have noticed Lisa writes stuff like 'Sealey owes us nothing' and mildly wondered why (since most horses owe £87*52*30) Having great fun reading thanks for pointing it out. And its really well written. |

I read this a few years ago and was just transfixed. You can imagine my excitement when I went to the Breamore endurance ride and realised the lovely arab coralled next to Marygold was Sealy..... and close-by were Lisa and Harry. I was (almost) starstruck!! I asked Lisa whether they had any plans to publish (which they didn't!) and begged them to do so...... |

Thankyou all for your kind comments. We had an email this morning from the website people saying that our site had crashed due to exceeding it's band width.... now I know why! I will see if Harry can fix it ( I am rubbish at technology!) and let you know when it is up and running.
Lynda, thanks for being nice but as for my appearance I can assure you that 4 years of running my own business have turned me into a haggard old crone (have done 86 hours work this week).
Sealy and Hannah are as beautiful as ever!
Harry regularly does talks about our trip in aid of SPANA but I have never been as I am still absolutely heartbroken about Audin and could not bear it. His loss has left an unhealing hole in my heart.
There is a small silver lining though, that Clutha alluded to. Last year a mare came into the clinic for scanning, being an Arab I asked her breeding, the lady said that she was by Aurabba out of Constanza, born 1990... this is Audins age and breeding, I just stood there, saying 'she can't be', the lady must have thought I was mad and said 'I know how my mare is bred' at that point I looked at the mare's so familiar eyes and burst into tears, by now the lady must have been CERTAIN that I was mad. When I did finally get a grip I explained and went on to scan the mare, who was empty. The lady immediately offered that I cover the mare with any stallion I liked. Long story short, she is due any moment, with a foal by Imperial Zar (by Spearmint ex a Hanif mare). I really cannot express how kind this mare's owner has been to me, I used frozen semen from a 20yo stallion the mare is now 21 ( she was in fact '89 not 90)so it took me 3 cycles to get her in foal!! but she was very patient and encouraged me to give it one more go after the second cycle when I was ready to give up! The nice thing is that the characteristics the lady described of this mare were very like Audin, loves children etc.. I rode her and she even rides like him, eating up the ground. Even stranger, Zan who posts on here, was astonished to read Aud's breeding as her sister's 'horse of a lifetime' was by Ben Rabba, Aurabba's sire out of Constanza. These horses all trace in tail female line to Helwa, 'Egbert' always characterises horses with the tail female line to Bint Helwa (the Blunts mare, daughter of the Ali Pasha Sherif mare Helwa) as 'particularly sweet'. Furthermore Helwa means sweet in Arabic ... and even stranger ..Imperial Zar traces in tail female line to Helwa, a fact which I was not aware of until after I had chosen to use him! I liked his breeding, his conformation suited the mare, he had won racing but I must admit that his incredible sweet friendly nature swung it for me! If this foal has a fraction of Audin's loyalty and generosity I will be blessed, though nothing of course could ever replace my dear friend.
Blimey I wish I hadn't told you all that as the foal is not born yet and so much can go wrong.
Thanks again for all your kind comments, it was Harry, not me who wrote the blog at the time for our friends and family as a result there are here are lots of 'jokes' (hmmm ...) on there that you probably need to be Welsh, a certain age and a Bruce Springsteen/Bob Dylan/Monty Python fan to 'get' so sorry if there are some 'weird' bits that don't make sense .... don't worry it's not you, it's us !! Cheers Lisa |

Hi Lisa, I loved the account of your journey too. I came across it inadvertently, before realising you were the same person on AL. Harry is a brilliant story teller - I kept laughing aloud as I was reading it, my OH was wondering what I was up to and I ended up reading it out loud him - it kept us both amused and entertained for hours. Apart from the sad bits of course.
I crewed for 4 women who rode the length of CornwaLL last month. It took 6 days and seemed like a huge undertaking and they had a back up truck with food, equipment etc I can only imagine how difficult it was for you having to carry all your gear with you.
I'm absolutely full of admiration.
