My mother has an at least 50 years old curb bit *IX lancer bit* and she use it still on an old mare. Does anyone knows if this bit is made and where I can buy a new one?
Possibly this is an old cavalry bit (IX Lancer might even refer to the regiment it was issued to), which may be why you are having trouble finding one now?
