What sort of info do you want ?, David is still breeding and based in Warwickshire, but has downsized over the last few years. Mainly Palominos, most of which are PBA, but some other breeds too. |

hi just read your message,my much loved mare bought from david by my sister was called t/soulaiky and she was a crabbet mare broken to ride [i believe] at 11 yrs. i swapped her with my sister for a 16hand palomino i could not get on with this started my love of crabbets. the mare was foaled in 1980 and sadly put to sleep in 2004 because of bad arthritis in her back legs. what i would like to know is how many foals she had, and if there are any of her progeny still around. we bred one foal [a colt] from her the sire was general silver.she had an horrendous foaling so we never bred from her again. any information would be helpful |

Natalie, I don't have a number, but there is an ad on this page for a very nice filly and mare for sale described as Midoak Stud Dispersal due to illness, I think you have to make contact through the Palomino Society, number at the top of the page.
http://www.britishpalominosociety.co.uk/forsale.htm
They would presumably have the contact details for the Midoak Stud anyway?
Edited to add, David Webb is mentioned on this website, and apparently it was updated 3 months ago...

Thank you ladies! You've been most helpful.
I know David has just purchased MidOak Ritas Pearl (cremello) & at least one other palomino mare back from Pinewood Palominos so perhaps he may breed again?
I'll contact him, thanks again. |

A lovely cremello peformance bred part bred arab stallion called Midoak Mardi Gras is available on stallions on line. I spoke to david about him and he said he bred him and the lady that owns him is desperate to sell him... I was tempted because he was a fantastic riding horse... but decided not to.. David was very ill for a long time a while back but was improving... perhaps he is entertaining breeding again. I have not spoken to him for a while.... His son does help him a bit. He did breed quality horses.. |

Hi, I'm Lindsay! If anyone does ever speak to David, please thank him for me. I owned Midoak Moonlight (Mardis Gras's older full brother) from a 3 year old until I lost him last year to a rare tumour. He really was my horse of lifetime, a very special boy who gave me years of joy. I had my eye on Ritas Pearl but saw she'd been sold. It's nice to think David has her back. |

HI Lindsay, would you not be interested in Mardi Gras ? I know his owner would be pleased to sell him to a good home. I have not seen David for some time, he lives about 15 miles from me... but if I see him I will pass on your message. Best wishes. |

Nat - David Webb has been voted onto council for the BPS. If you cant get hold of him let me know and I can get a message to him through a friend who knows him well. She will see him at the next council meeting on 12 November. |

Mardi Gras is an absolutely stunning horse with an incredible nature, I went up to meet him and his owner not long after I lost my boy. She was a lovely lady. I'm very tempted by him but he's getting on a bit now and I already have one retired ex stallion :-D If I lose him any time soon I will definitely be giving her a call. I'm also very tempted to breed a foal by him and if he came to me I'd have to have him gelded. I don't want to breed another until the current one is a bit older. I also need to find the right mare! If anyone has a cremello 15.2hh middleweight mare with good conformation and wants to breed me my perfect colt - let me know! As far as I know Mardi Gras hasn't got any cremello offspring, I would love to hear if anyone knows otherwise. |

LindseyH I have a MidOak cremello mare, which I will be breeding to a cremello this year hopefully. She is due a palomino foal in July. I am trying to breed to order, rather just for 'breedings sake' so if you would like to hear about my breeding plans, or pop and see my cremello girl, please don't hesitate to contact me. |

I thought about using Midoak Mardi Gras this yr. I phoned Sandra and she said she sold him to somewhere in Derbyshire she thinks and she cant remember who to... which is a bit odd. Do any of you know where he went and what happened to him. He would be getting on for 20 yrs old now. |

Ah that's a great shame.
I'd recommend Xiviers Sinitra owned by Abbi Holmes if you're looking for a cremello boy. Sadly she's down in Cornwall but he's available via AI. Frank is tall & elegant
Pewit Dancing Billy is very nice too owned by Pinewood Palominos. He's smaller & flashy.
I like them both. |

Thanks Nat, I have found a young son of Mardi gras near Hinkley, I will have a look at him. The good thing is they let mares run with him and I really prefer this option. My only attempt with AI was at twemloes took pally mare there cost me £1200 in costs and she did not get in foal... turned her out with master blaster and she was pregnant immediately.... so have been well and truly put off AI .. I think Sinatra is standing at a stud in oxfordshire this yr .. or maybe last yr....not sure but Pewitts Billy is a good option. Cheers Heather x |

I'm not keen on the AI option either Heather. I think it's very costly and quite unnatural. I'm not saying I wouldn't use AI 'cause I would and if I want to use Frank (Xiviers Sinatra) I'll have to.
I haven't heard that he's in Oxfordshire, I'll check with Abbi |
