Today I had my first lesson on Polka I'm hoping she'll make a little dressage horsey Instructor liked her. She was a good girl, but it was all very basic and slow. I really need to work on just getting her moving forward. We have our second one tomorrow

She also got a bit in for the first time last night and was very good, she had a good chomp on it. Going to put it in every day to get her used to it but not for ridden yet.

No pics as yet but here is one I took afterwards having a well earned rest

Today Inka had a day of rest as you can see. I'm sure you must think all my girls do is sleep! We do run a pretty relaxed ship here

She's so adorable when she's sleeping, but when she's awake she's

Look at what she did when I was away emptying the wheelbarrow.

I heard the crash on my way back I nearly got a pic of her standing over and amongst it looking but she moved!

Po today...

So pleased with the amount of flea bites (not flea flea bites, I'm not pleased about them! ) Every year she gets more and I can't wait and hope she gets COVERED in them. That is surely the best thing about a grey!

Fabulous! I've just backed Ruby, so we're not quite as far on, just learning steering and stop start with a rider. To be honest, she's absolutely brilliant and mooches about, pretty balanced. Suppose that's another advantage of backing them at 4, rather than 3, they're mature enough emotionally to accept it, and mature enough physically to cope too.
They are all looking beautiful, nothing cuter than a sleepy horse! How are you managing with your grazing now? I'm really struggling to keep ruby's weight down, she's SO lardy! Tehy're all on such little grazing, and she comes in for about 7hrs during the day because of her LV, and has a small hay net, get's a small handful (and i mean small) of a naural feed for her vits/mins, and she's STILL huge!!

Well done Fee- look forward to hearing your progress- and your mogwai. Its such fun with these babys!

Your horses are so relaxed Fee- nice to see you had sun today- we had gale force winds for past 2 days and very little sun or warmth- had felt rather winter like again!

Anyway, well done- pics the next time please!

Thanks folks

Second lesson today and even better! Polka knew what it was all about and was much more relaxed. Instructor now knows she has a fast learner on her hands. It's her first time working with a pure bred and she's very impressed

Inka got a bath today, well, in truth me and Inka got a bath today! She also got on her new Sunday headcollar and went for a walk into next doors school for the first time and met some cones, barrels and she was stepping over poles. I actually wasn't intending going there, but Inka invited herself when she saw her gate open

Ros, did you see the size of Polka, and she's not in foal! It's difficult getting it right. This is my first year 'doing it myself' so I think I maybe left them on the 10 acres too long. I'm trying to keep them on a largish area but watch the weight, hard!

Thanks Sundance I hope they do like it as I sold my house to get it built for them!
They're worth it
