The Donax granddaughter Nazarifa (Zircon Nazeer/Misk Tarifa) is on loan to a teenager on our yard who outgrew her pony. She is a lovely fleabitten grey mare - lucky girl to have her! |

I have a daughter of Donax she is called Bahama out of a pure bred mare Baidaa ( Fari 11 x Baiyad) she is now 27 and was bred by Lakeside Arabians in Cambridge I wonder if they still breed? I know Bahama had 2 anglo foals but I have not been lucky enough to have have any foals from her she came to me with another horse 7 years ago and has been retired ever since she always calls out every day from her stable to let you know she is there and is head of the herd with the other mares being half her age or younger. |

Bigmac, re: DAH Michaelangelo
http://ihdg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=ght09&action=print&thread=94302
Apparently the girl in the pink t-shirt is rubbing his head in this pic (one amongst several assorted photos) He is the sire of all of the foals pictured, including the rescue foal. More pictures on a post further down. |

DAH Arabians have a facebook page, I don't know if you use facebook bigmac? They are based in Ashford Kent. They are listed in the stud book directory here on AL, although the link to their website appears to be out of date, there are contact details there.
Here is his pedigree on allbreeds:
http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/dah+michaelangelo
Here is Hannah Marie's pedigree
http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/hannah+marie2
and if you click on the tiny photo icon next to her name (top centre) there is a nice head shot of her.
Your filly looks pretty high percentage arab to me - is it Layla that you bought? (I found her ad when I was googling DAH Michaelangelo). If so she's going to be very pretty
ETA There's a lot of very close breeding in Michaelangelo's pedigree, and I may have made a mistake, but I believe he is just over 53% Arab (could be a tiny bit more, since he's got welsh in there too), which would make your filly 76.56% Arab.

If you look at the photos on Michaelangelo's allbreeds pedigree, there's some really nice palominos amongst his forebears. |

I had a look on the facebook page which doesn't seem to be active anymore, but there were some fantastic pictures on there of Michaelangelo and some of an arab mare named "hannah" so possibly Laylas mum. I've sent a message to the lady that did admin the page. There is an advert on for Michaelangelo (which now says "sold") it lists him as approx 70% arabian. |

Great to hear you have Layla, I also new Hannah her mum well. She was a stunning lady, and Michaelangelo who I knew less well was a lovely boy with such a gentle nature. Always loved a good neck rub. Lovely to hear Layla has a good home with you and long may you enjoy each other. If you look under "where are they now" there is a long thread all about Nabilya (Layla's grandmother) which may give you a bit more info on Layla's grandmother and aunties. |

Hi, sorry it is not under "where are they now" the post I am refering to is also under "Pedigrees and bloodlines" it is on page 11 I think, as was posted some time ago and is titled "Bint Bint Shakira" as I was trying to find her at the time. As she is closely related to Hannah Marie this will give you some more info on Layla's relatives.

Thats great, thankyou for all the info, i will have a look on that thread. Layla is settling in very well, she's made herself very much at home and is close friends with a 9hh coloured filly, they eat, sleep and play together. I can't wait to see Layla in the summer she is a beautiful girl and will look lovely in her summer coat. I've seen lots of pictures now of both Hannah and Michaelangelo and both are beautiful horses. |

Hi Chelsea4125 I Knew Kareems Kracker very well he is such a lovely gentle stallion. I also knew his dad very well Kareem. Unfortunately he died at a young age but not before he had covered my mare, Lyana Bint Radfan. The result was a lovely colt. named Kasardi Kareem who is now 11 years old. He is a lovely boy. Unfortunately his mum our mare Lyana died 2 years ago.
I am sure you feel very lucky to have Kracker. Is he still entire or has he been gelded now? Would love to hear more about him. I have got copies of his blood line which I would be happy to send you also some photos of his sire and many of his family. |

Hi lyanabint Kareems kracker has now been gelded, which is a shame as he has the looks and temperament of an angel. I got him last aug on loan with view to buy and i fell in love with him straight away.I got him for my 5 yr old daughter who has autism and they are so lovely together. She has taken him to a couple of shows where she has always been placed in the top line up. He is a very protective of my daughter and he is my daughters pride and joy. Now the spring grass has come through he prances around like a stallion when its time to come in which is such a beautiful sight. I would love to know about his bloodlines if u could pass them on. x |
