I thought I would start this thread as a way of us all adding some pictures to it and maybe helping each other to find past horses? now with the exception of one in this picture I know where they all are ( 3 are still with me) but there is a colt in this picture called DF Maestro he is possibly in the Devon/ Cornwall area , he would be about 16 now, he was by Zircon Nazeer and out of Minuette. please join in this thread if you have also lost touch with your past horses as we may be able to help each other get in contact with them again

Oh dear 226 people read , no answers. well on a lighter note here are some of the horses who have shared my life, taught me so much about unconditional love  starting with Nazzi, SueJ will know him  ( although he is white now)

this mare and filly went to the same home where they still live with my life long friends
here is baby all grown up and doing what she is so good at competing

Here is one of the colt foals in the first picture, he is a son of crimbo and here he is with his owner, who has had him since then 16 years, she is a trusted friend and looks after my horse when I go away

Maybe? I sold him to a woman down in Devon Called Andria Wallace , she sold him on as a gelding and I never found out who had him, of if he is still alive? |

Hi Lynda, we had Andria's horses here for a while. Nothing bred by you though, mainly Combe Farm breeding.
She moved to a lovely farm on Dartmoor, Widecombe in the Moor. She always found good homes for her horses so your chap would have gone on somehwere nice I'm sure.
We got slightly fed up though when she sent a colt foal here and it sort of got left here! but hey ho she was a young pretty girl with brand new boobs and possibly a brand new life just around the corner.
Like you we try to keep track of who has gone where, but in this ever changing climate it is only going to get worse I'm afraid. Horses are becoming like clothes, just change them when you are fed up of them.
I know you feel like me, so just breed to keep and if you find a very special home for that foal then sell crossing your fingers you have found the right home. |

| Lovely pictures Lynda you must be so proud of the babies you've bred and made other peoples dreams come true by doing so!!! its so nice when they are still with original owners and will live their days out with them, proves how carefully you have to pick a good homes. more pix welcome x |

Lynda - Just to let you & Sue know that the last time I saw DF Maestro he was owned(?) by Neil Lock, the son of Val Lock !!!!!!!!! People may remember her 
I saw him showing Maestro at Bicton and remember Suyen mentioning to me sometime later that Andrea Wallace wondered how/where Maestro was. I'm not entirely sure if the Locks purchased him (fully) or if they had him on loan or what, at the time they were living near Bicton at Budleigh Salterton, then they moved down to Cornwall near Liskeard I think, the next I heard "on the grapevine" was that they were "doing business" in North of England/Scotland. I think Joan Woodward might cast a little more light on that. I think Neil may have showed Maestro at the nationals too, sort of lost track of the year - they fly past so quickly don't they, but it probably was about 1999 ish. Hope you have some luck tracing Maestro, he was a good looking horse and it would be lovely to find him again. I'm still trying to trace a gelding of mine called Sahir Caliph, last heard of in the Badminton area - bright bay by Aikon Aszu (Crimbo's son!!) he'd be 8 now - just in case anyone might know of him.

| what a lovely thread. We know where every horse we ever sold went to, except for one. And that was a beautiful big dark bay tb mare who would be 7 now and about 17h (16h at 2yo) shes one horse we would have loved to have kept but under the circumstances we had to reduce 8 horses and managed to keep hold of 5 at the time had them everywhere lol. we sold two to a dealer we never realised, we dropped them off stay in touch and seen there other horses everything, out of the blue we saw are anglo filly advertised contacted them but the tb was sold on already,we brought the anglo back in a dreadful sorry state. we nursed her back to health and now shes in the most fantastic home we could have imagined her stables in a georgian stable yard, was an x tb stud. |

I am also really lucky in that I know where all my babies are,when they leave home I make sure their new owners know that they can always come back if need be [we never know whats round the next corner in life do we ?] I only breed on a small scale that way I can choose who has my foals and the latest one to leave for his new home is Alfie the HA ,Sophia [fayrelands forever} has him for life and going by the lovely old crabbet boy she has loved and cared for all of 26yrs his future is very safe in her hands .

I wish I knew how two of mine are doing, we had a super colt Marley, he was by my OH's Trakehner/polish Arab stallion and he was the most loving colt I ever knew we found what seemed to be the perfect home, with promises of keeping in touch which I am sure the husband intended to keep, the non horsey wife on the other hand didn't seem too keen  and after trying to call a number of times I get no answer, that was 3yrs ago, the other colt, also by Tosca went with his half brother to a "forever" home together and I was so thrilled as they were really close that I had dropped the price for them to be together every time I contacted the owner she would only talk about Kahlife when asked about Bailey she would just say he looks a bit fluffy so haven't got any pics, when I persisted she got quite rude and asked why I was bothered about Bailey eventually she told me she sold him to a friend and the boys are still close, but she refuses to give me any more details it is so frustrating as I feel responsible for them for their entire lives, I am their breeder and with that privilage comes a lot of responsibility!! |

this is tessa, shes now 8, we sold her at five and kept in touch with what was supposed to be a forever home but we think she got injured and could no longer compete to the level they wanted, our riding insturtor said the person that has her now loves her to pieces and is being well looked after.
this is a little rescue mare star. We sold her on to a lovely home where two years later she was pts after a horific injury two months earlier. when we got her she box walked, weaved, would have attacked you with her feet and teeth, she was in soo much pain through her back, her teeth were parrot mouthed from neglect, had anixety problems, was scared of open spaces just to name a few. But we had her two years and changed her around, cured most of her vices and turned her into a lovely family pony, 90% of her problem was pain related.
this is cindy the lovely tb were trying to find whose 7. she was also a cruelty case, and came with her half sister like coat hangers as the vet discribed them, not even the energy to walk they were dragging there back feet. one day we went to her stable and she was down and took us two hours to get her up to her feet luckily we had a narrowish isle from the stable and used it to our advantage.
cindys half sister sandy, shes been pts after a bad stifle injury.
this is cindy and sandy in the background 3 weeks after we brought them home and starting to look a lot better. sandy had a hernia that made her look like a gelding if you didn;t know better.
then millie shes in a brill home now last we heard doing intermediate dressage and jumping meter30 tracks. She half bred arab!! we sold her then brought her back rehabilitated her and sold her to her forever home shes in now. we nearly lost her as a yearling when she hung her self in the lorry, shes soo lucky to be alive.
THIS IS HOW WE BRought her back

lol lyndilou out of the last picture we only have gizzy now. You can see her on the right as a fluffy weanling. We wanted a 15h2 show horse, we kept looking in the paper ect and then would end up buying these sorry state youngsters and cruelty cases and thought we would get a nice 15h2 but think our feeding programme worked too well lol 13h yearlings to 15h2/16h 2 yo's. Or any arab sire ads we had to go and see also of course lol. We had 6 horses under 2, and a nanny that was 5 just to keep them in track lol. What was wrong though was we filled the horses out to fit the stables and at one point we had 15 in while studying a degree lol . would have been out with them from 9am to 1-2am, had a good routine that worked and the horses respected. We learnt alot about horse behaviour spending hours in amongst the youngsters, the experience was invaluable. |

| Yeah rememeber them days the most we had i think was 10 which we owned and had 3 we also looked after like our own and then 3 in for breaking, schooling or full livery most we had was 16 lol and doing a degree lol well supposed to. We had cindy, sandy tessa, millie, gizzy, ros, honey, star,bramble,kelly, the gelding we competed and learnt to ride on flash, then we looked after lass and bella the wee welsh lol. We used to put them out in the morn at the back of house left big piles of haylage then set their stables and brought them in at night lol. We loved them all so much and kinda ended up with them like helen said, got millie at 12weeks old vet was disgusted and said had it not been for only us getting her he would have phoned the girl up and gave her a mouthful. She was our first part bred arab and was a play mate for gizzy who was honey was carrying at the time lol. They were so close, we had honey, star (on loan) and flash we then had to send star back as owner wouldnt sell for about 1 week when after all her problems had returned again begged us to take her back and set her back about 2 months. so brought bramble a tbxID as we told her we were buying one and we did to replace her, but on plus side we made a bad offer and the girl sold as we said we couldnt afford her Bramble went lame four weeks after we had started to break her so became a nanny but we did have her insured luckily . Seen cindy and sandy advertised in the paper went down same place we got bramble and brought both home he said he took them part payment for a welsh cob and as they were in such bad state he couldnt leave them. We then seen a pba advertised couldnt really afford her as we had just brought cindy and sandy but made them an offer down phone (said couldn't afford asking price) and went and seen her and had to bring her home. We then had a friend asked us to rescue a foal kelly she was 3 months as well and was took of her dam far too early and her stomach was very sensitive for the rest of her life which we say was caused by the early abrupt weaning. And then we phoned up bout a coloured PBA filly and that when we were talked into buying ros. then we lost our stables so had to sell and reduce we kept the foundation stock gizzy, ros, honey,who was in foal with xsara and tessa, and kelly we had some at my uncles, some on grass livery some at our friends then moved them up to livey bout 6 months later and brought milly back. And now helen has five at home and i have 2 after and still have the ros, gizzy, and i have xsara, and millie has a home for life and then honey and kelly sadly passed away last month sorry bit long |
