Hi all, I am trying to find out if Eldyr had any successful Endurance progeny, or even via grand-children?

Hi Sue, I don't know where Eldyr was at stud or was/is based but that's the correct Eldyr on the link. Managed to find 2 progeny that have won at 80-85km's Oakthwaite Elsady & Bashir Kala-Shah, so far! |

Leaving you the Engurance link. Horses should be listed her to do competative rides in GB. Just might help. PS. Can not find either of the horses as listed above, maybe the endurance was done abroad (notGB) and or The names have been modified to register them...???? Do you know where these horses did these distances...????? and ride names would help or locations & Year done..... might be able to check then.. OK Sue

Hi Lisa, what a shame Eldyr is no longer with us, he looked stunning. Looks like he had lots of progeny though which is great!
Thanks for the link Sue, had already looked there though, the 2 horses I mentioned are on there, my bad spelling Oakthwaite Elsadyr & Bashir Kala-Shah, also see Bashir Nadeena & Bashir Shafeeq done well in 40kms, also Bashir Shamyr 1st in a 64kms & 2nd in an 80kms. Will have a look at grandchildren next!

My favourite picture of Eldyr was when he was the "model" for the Super Solvitax add.
So sad that he has left us. He was a gorgeous horse and is my Jazz's grandsire.

Hi, i dont know if you are still reading this post but if you are, i own Astra Zephyros who is Eldyr's grandson. Astra is out of Shulay Faberge and a mare called Legend Moon Princess. He won his first ever endurance competition of 25 miles at the age of six. He is amazing at endurance!! Unfortunately however, he developed azoturia and has had several attacks which means he has been away from competing for a while. But i am sure that the azoturia is hereditary only from his mothers side, having done lots of investigation into his family etc.
Hope this is at all helpful! Tiggy xxx |

Hi Tiggy I wouldnt be too sure about this being from his mothers side. I own Springtimer Fabulous (Shulay Faberge x Roundhills Autumn Glory) and she has a problem with tying up as well.
She was diagnosed with Reccurrent Exertional Rhabdomyolisis 3 years ago and we are just testing her again because this winter she has tied up even in walk. She is fine in the summer and has competed in showing and dressage but in the winter she has at least two attacks - usually one in November and another in March.
Would be really useful to share notes on this if you want to pm me. I did wonder if it was hereditary with Jazz and it seems to much of a coincidence.
Your boy sounds really talented by the way. Would love to see some pictures. Debs x |

Penny just dropped, yes, I know Bashir Shafeeq, a grey and got a few pics of him, when he was with Sarah E. now with Sue Meadowns I think. We rode together at Delamere Forest doing a 20m, no.102 and in the winter at the Mince Pie 2008. Bret Corcoran(top Junior rider) has Bashir Shamyr, Bret hadhim out at Red Dragon last October.I might have a snap. Both by Eldyr.
