Inka has this and I'm curious as to what it is? I thought at first was just part of her coloured gene? But it's raised in the middle like a lump, do horses get moles? Was trying to photograph from the side so that you can see it's raised but it's hard to see it. The black hairs in the middle are a different texture than the body hair. Is it just a coloured 'bit', her sire was 50% skewbald cob. She also has some white hairs at the top of her tail.

It could well be a scar from when she was very young that didnt heal properly and left the hair follicles damaged which resulted in a slight change of colour and a raised area ?, I wouldn't worry about it unless it was causing her any problems , it might even be an old sarcoid that had healed leaving the skin slightly scarred ? |

It never even crossed my mind that it could be an old injury, probably because of it's position but given she's young, inquisitive and bold it probably is Thank you!

long time ago I know but was looking at some old posts and wondered if Inka's mark had changed at all or just stayed a mystery? |

Yes, I agree I think it may well be an old scar. Sibby ( my grey) has lots of rough brownish patches from when he was attacked by that rough stallion last year |

Hi, forgot about posting this! Yep, mark is still there and still the same. I'm now convinced it is indeed an old injury, probably a bite as she's a right cheeky
