Info wanted on both sire and dam of the above Polo Pony from the 1920's..extensive winner at Olympia, London Spring Show and Hurlingham and Ranleigh. Info wanted on her sire: THRUSTER (1912) 1123 NPS.
and her Dam: VENETIA NPS.(Approved Mare Register,page 2). incase anyone can sheck the old register and the NPS register please.

Found a couple of mentions on line describing Thruster as Thoroughbred but having no luck in getting further than that.

Don't know if you got a picture of the chestnut mare Piave, this is from a book published in 1924. No more about her breeding yet.

In list of Polo Pony Stallions available for service in 1929 Thruster 1123 is standing at stud with Col. Sir H.A. Wernher, K.C.V.O., M.F.H, Thorpe Lubenham Hall, Market Harborough, Leics.
No mention of Thruster in 1930, so not at stud that year. |

Mother found an article in Hurlingham News in 1931:
The excellent polopony mare Maude (bred and owned by Col. Wernher) by Thruster 1123 out of Uqbara (grey mare 14,3hh, raced and played polo in Iraque, arab) was sold at Tattersall June sale for £ 3010 to Capt E.F. Bolton , Nigeria, West Africa. |
