My mare has done very little travelling. I am taking her to a local show next week and am more than a little worried about how she will travel. Someone told me that most horses are fine in the box as they are too busy concentrating on standing still. I tried her up the ramp today and she was fine. Went straight up. I'm more worried about when the lorry is moving. Do they tend to stay calm? I know she will sweat up but we are allowing plenty of time before our classes.
Try taking her for a practice run around the block a few days before the show. I am sure she will be fine if she hasnt had a bad experience, but to ease your nerves and to see how she would react, take her for a practice run. If she isnt happy, see if you can take a travel buddy with her on the day of the show.
There is another pony going with her who travels all the time. I can't do any more practice as it isn't my box. Just need to keep telling myself it'll be fine.
She will most likely be fine, especially as she hasa chaperone. Just be careful that the other pony and owners don't just want to unload him straightaway and take him away though. Parking with a haynet and top door open is a great way to settle them

Her class is on before mine so I will most likely lead Magic round to chill out abit. I'm taking her in equitation and ridden arab so fingers crossed. All I'm hoping for is a problem free day!
Agree with Mrs Vlacq, but sounds like you have already thought about this, im sure she will be fine, have a great day and good luck in your classes and please post pics of the big day
This is about you worrying. Well don't. It wont help her and you will be in for several sleepless nights if you do. I am sure she will be fine with her companion. You have thought about everything and prepared as much as you can, now go and enjoy your show. Good luck.
