Hi everyone, just to let you know the schedules are now ready and can be downloaded by clicking on my web address and going to the Crabbet tab on the home page, entry forms will be on in a couple of days.
We have some exciting new classes and are trying Anglo, Part Bred and Hispano Arabe classes, we hope you'll support us.
We're also introducing a Related Pairs class which should prove really interesting to watch, though I'll have to sort out who's related to who !
We've also changed the timetable around a bit so dressage and ridden are now in the morning, Handy Arab at lunchtime, this was so much fun it shouldn't be right at the end of the day, followed by all the in hand classes in the afternoon.
Admin will be moving this thread to the Showing Forum soon so keep up with events there
Hope to see you there
Mandy & Pam

Count me in with a lorry full of part-bred youngsters if I can organise enough bodies to help Is the "related" class in-hand or ridden (brain not in gear, sorry!)

Hi Debbie, hope all is well with you, glad Jaz will be in attendance, will he be racing fit this time ?. Thought youi'd like the Handy Arab changes !
Rowena, thanks for your support, the Related Pairs are open to all horses at the show, though for part breds, anglos and hispano arabes, one parent must be at least 75% Crabbet, so no problems for you if they're all by Marcus.
Kathleen, hope you got the schedule OK

Please excuse me for being a bit thick but in the part bred classes do they have to be part bred crabbett or just part bred arab? |

Hi Karen, hope all is well with you.
Its not thick, we guessed this might get a bit confusing !
The part, anglo and hispano classes are for part bred arabs, but.....they still have to have one parent who is a minumum of 75% Crabbet breeding.
So if you take a straight anglo cross out of a TB mare by an arab stallion who's bloodlines are a minimum of 75% Crabbet, they qualify.
I'm afraid a lot of the riding ponies won't qualify as the arab blood even if it is Crabbet will be too diluted to make the percentage, a bit like the pure breds we have to draw a line somewhere.
Hope thats clearer, let me know if not !
Talk Soon Mandy

We'll be there!
Kathleen, was sorry to hear that you may have to loan out your mare, I am having a hard time stopping myself from pming you because I am so thrilled with my Mareschal gelding that I am tempted to breed another of this line !!! If you still have her or if the new loanee is intersted do you fancy doing the related class with me as both our horses are by Mareschal? Bryn , love him, was a bit of a nob-head last year as it was all a bit overwhelming for him, but he is older and wiser now .... what do you think? It is a LOVELY show and that is from a person to whom showing is a pretty long way down the list of fun things to do with a horse! Karen that is a shame it would be nice if you could come! Mand , I can hear you thinking 'shut up Lisa' but would a total of 25% Crabbet blood be worth considering? It would allow some lovely horses to enter eg Ned, Des,Finn and is still a significant Crabbet % and double the % of Arab blood needed to enter a PBA class?? Will phone you soon re food (human!) Cheers Lisa

Mandy Khalifa will be there again (hope i can get Lorna to ride him again as she did a much better job of it than i could) I think its great that the handy arab class is in the middle of the day!
With the pairs class how related does the horse have to be, do you mean same sire or dam? Michelle |

Lisa Shut up !!!!
The main problem with the part breds is checking the pedigrees if we go for a reduced percentage, I promise I'll talk to Pam about it and if it goes well this year we will review the percentages.
Will talk food soon !
Karen sorry you won't be able to come.
Amma whereabouts are you ?
Michelle glad Khalifa will be there to defend his title, Lorna will be showing Gabriel for me as well, I think she will be vey much in demand. As for the pairs class they need to be at least 50% related it doesn't matter which way round it is.

Hi All,
Michelle thank you for your kind words on my riding, I will be at the show as Mandy has mentioned I am showing Gabriel for her.
But fear we maybe in the same class as I am hoping to take my open gelding this year, I am sure you will ride Khalifa wonderfully and I will give you any help you need on the day or before if you need to talk.
Really looking forward to the show this year well done to all for arranging it again.
Does anyone know of any stabling very close to the show ground for the Sunday night, hopefully we will stay at the ground on Saturday night but I do not think we can stay the extra night?
Many thanks Lorna |

Hi Amma, its not too far from Hereford, so look forward to meeting you and your horse.
Lorna, I've only put the schedule up at present just so people know whats on offer this year, but in the next couple of weeks I will be adding all the other information, including possible stabling for Sunday night, I am also still working on the college to let us have stabling for a further night,I'll keep you posted.
If people are intending to enter just a reminder that we only have 28 stables and 10 have gone already, so if you do want a stable for you will need to get your entries in sooner rather than later.
I'm heading up North for a few days but will be back on Monday so will try and all the other info next week,
Looking forward to seeing friends old and new in September

Lisa, we could always do related pairs with Bryn and Nidal, tho he may be a little too chilled out, was trying to eat his breakfast without actually getting up this morning. I'd say gelding him has made a difference! And ditto the 'shut up' from Mand!! Looking forward to seeing everyone again in September. Pam |

Glad he's settled Pam, ..does same father/grandfather count?? If so it'd be good to fly the flag for Mareschal. Let me know when you have finalised the rules for the related pairs Cheers Lisa |

Hi Lisa, I think Pam may be suffering from sleep deprivation !
The rules for related pairs are they have to be 50% related , half/full siblings, mother/daughter etc, so Bryn and Nidal though close, are not close enough.
We will be having a sub forum soon, so as I get entries I'll post on potential pairings on here so people can then get in touch direct
See you Soon Mandy |
