Has anybody tried the new 'shot' calmers; there were a few to choose from at the saddlery, some containing mainly oxygen and some with herbs/magnisium. I have been advised that some people use oxy shot to actually 'spark up' their horses at shows to give them an edge, as it can have an adverse reaction with some horses. My mare 'spooks' a lot even with familiar schools, as a form of evation/napping and/or when she is feeling insecure. This is multiplied when we go to shows as I am a stress head too which don't help. Whats your experience of these calmers? Shot or suppliment? oxygen, magnisium or herbs?
Tried a lot of herbal calmers on a stressy mare, none seemed to help much. However my sister has a stressy gelding and a shot of NAF Magic did seem to help him with boxing, travel and the event itself.

I tried every calmer on the market on my anglo mare I had and NONE of them worked at all. Magnesium based calmers will ONLY work if the horse has a magnesium deficiency in the first place
I tried the Oxyshot on my youngster at his first indoor and the effects were amazing, better concentration and he was so calm I had to use plenty of leg to keep him cantering bless him
The only other I KNOW that works is Nupafeed but its very expensive and more of a daily thing.I
I like the Oxyshot as it can just be given to help concentration. Its apparently like us having a glug of oxygen
Have a look at their website its really interesting
