This year is the 21st anniversary of the Towerland's Show and we are hoping that as many of you as possible will be either a participant or a spectator. We are hoping to produce a pictorial record of the champion horses over the past 20 years and we will keep you informed of the progress of that venture. There will be an invitational class to demonstrate the skills of past handlers - this may well be instructive to the youngsters of today and to many of the current handlers!!!!!
We have listened, in particular, to your comments about the number of judges used for the gelding classes. It has been decided to increase the number of judges to 5 being the same number as other classes. We hope that this will encourage you to enter, where your horses have qualified, for these classes.
There will be another fantastic Saturday evening production - but we won't spoil the surprise just yet - apart from saying DO NOT MISS IT - it will rival previous events.
Just in case you do not know the dates - the show takes place on the weekend of 28th & 29th of August 2010.
Make a note of the dates and you will all be welcomed to the traditional finale to the Arab Horse showing scene in GB. Come and celebrate the best of the In Hand and Ridden Arab Horses and enjoy the convivial atmosphere.

I have never missed and my birthbay is near then (sometimes on show day). However, my husband, without asking me, booked to take to the National Theatre to see War Horse on the Saturday, grrrrrr!!! He never takes me out so I was gobsmacked when he proudly produced the tickets. Any other weekend would have been great.
Sunday only for me (and I will be frazzled having been home really late and the horses to do!

I think admin should delete this topic as I can't go on the Saturday and you are just all upsetting me! I would be happy for a new topic of "Who isn't going to Towerlands" and then I would be really happy that I was going for one day while all the other posters weren't able to go!!!!!

I'm going, have only missed one, 1998, since it started. So pleased geldings being treated equally! |

Thank you Philip re the gelding classes
Please may we have the same DJ as last year - for the music during the classes. He was great!
Looking forward to it already .
Sorry you can't make it Barbara but I'm sure War Horse will be worth it - make sure you take plenty of tissues! |

What a great set of replies - it gives all the committee that little extra edge to present you all with a brilliant show. Rafa you will have to be patient about the entertainment but like most surprises it will be worth it!!! Pasha - good luck in your attemt to qualify your horse. Barbara Gregory - enjoy warhorse and then make the journey on Sunday!!! To all the others - we look forward to seeing you at the show.
You may have noticed that admin have revamped the showing forums - well done for the initiative. They have produced one for UKIAS and hopefully we will keep it updated to bring you the lastest news about the show.
One point which may require your support - Paula (she of Arabian Lines) has been invited to attend this year's show. It would be great if she could be persuaded to definitely accept - it may just be that if you could encourage her to organise herself then she just might make the journey. I leave it to your goodselves!!

You must go, Paula, how have you survived all these years without your annual shot of Towerlands. I am devastated at having to miss the Saturday, first ever day I haven't been. While there are some other great shows in UK Towerlands is the best and to see some of the big name horses from other countries is fantastic.
Do go, you won't regret it.
