ros was riding quiet well last year and he got his teeth done and suddenly he wouldn't accept the bit, we assumed his teeth back/saddle all checked fine. vet was out today and he said hes got excellent teeth, and was also quiet pleased that he stood with his mouth open so he could have a good look without even needing a gag lol. so now what im not one for forcing he trots round the corner with his head so far tilted he nearly falls over. he wasn't doing that before and if a push him into a contact he puts his ears back and rears as if he doesn't want to ride into the contact. i know the saddle can cause that where they dont want to use there back but saddle was checked. Should i try long reiging and also riding him bareback and see how he reacts if he accepts both well i will know its the saddle if same problem where do i go.
My boy had a head tilt in hand and under saddle. Under saddle he head shook if a contact was asked for. Although his teeth looked ok on examination, he actually had an upper tooth root infection at the back, which must've been very painful. He eventually got serious ongoing sinusitis and had to have the tooth removed under GA. Up until that point, the vets thought he had behavioural issues! He did noticeably drop condition too, though, which was an indication all was not well.
